Why do most businesses in Nepal without websites not reply when you ask them if they want one to be developed for them?
It seems like I've come across something when trying to contact Nepali businesses.
I will come across a business which has a decent Facebook and/or Instagram page but no proper website. Then I will reach out to them with a message something along the lines of:
"I've noticed your business lacks a website. Are you interested in getting it made?"
Silence.
Silence as in no response at all, not even a "No thank you".
I am just really curious about the reasoning behind it.
Do these businesses:
Believe there's no need for a website anymore?
- Receive sufficient amount of clients via Facebook, Instagram, TikTok or WhatsApp?
- Think websites are too costly to develop?
- Not trust some stranger reaching out via the internet?
- Do not fully realize what can be done using a website?
- Have some bad experience with developers previously?
- Or are simply too busy?
From my point of view, a lot of these small businesses would benefit greatly from having **services/products offered, address, Google presence and customers inquiries
As a developer, I think there’s a problem here. There is so much that small businesses can benefit from by bringing all these features – services offered, products, location, contact details, Google presence, and customer queries – together in one place.
However, maybe I am approaching this problem from the developer’s point of view and I’m missing some aspect.
