BPI’s Customer Service is TRASH
Rant here:
I have called MULTIPLE TIMES regarding one single promotion that BPI launched - which is the Swipe & Save For life promo. This promotion is only for the Blue Rewards card and Gold Rewards card, with a 30,000 and 50,000 spend requirement, respectively.
I have been approved of the BPI Visa Signature last November, as my first BPI Credit Card ever. Alongside this, I saw the Swipe & Save for Life Promo and read that I can still avail the promotion, as per T&C on number 11 - where if I convert and Non-Eligible card (my Visa Signature) to a Gold Rewards card, the spend amount I accumulated on my previous Visa Signature card and the newly converted Gold Rewards card meets the spend requirement, I am eligible for the AMF waiver for life.
I have well and even went over the 50,000 spend requirement on both cards combined by December, and since I was approved on November, the indicated eligible Spending Period is November 01 to January 31. Awarding period of the AMF waiver for life is March 31.
I am absolutely positive of my eligibility and have confirmed it with 2 agents on call even. I called on April 01 as I have not received the email confirming my eligibility, unlike other people. This first agent responded with:
“Sorry sir, kailangan po kasi same card type yung cinonvert nyo like, kailangan po Mastercard yung una nyong card, then convert to Gold Rewards Mastercard po, yun lang po ang eligible”
- I argued “Ma’am, yung example po sa T&C nga po for card conversion eligibility ay yung Amore Cashback na VISA cinonvert to Gold Rewards to be eligible”, and the agent retracted her statement and said she will forward this for dispute.
Second agent I called two weeks after April 01, argued:
“Sorry po, unfortunately hindi po kasi umabot yung spending requirement nyo na 50,000 sa Gold Rewards kasi kailangan po, yung 50,000 sa Gold Rewards Card lang po ang mameet, yung ibang spend nyo po ay galing sa Visa Signature po and hindi po counted yon”
- I argued “Ma’am, hindi po. As per yung T&C po nakalagay ay ang accumulated spend ng Amore Cashback card AND yung Gold Rewards card and counted para mameet ang 50,000. Not just one single card po. Para malinaw po, and naconfirm din po ng ibang nakausap kong agent, yung sum ng naspend ko sa previous card and newly converted card ko = if tinotal, yun po ang counted.”
She also retracted her statement and said she will make a follow up on this one.
Are they not aware of this promotion? Are they making excuses so that they can close this ongoing issue I have with them? Or are the agents I called just new hires? The last one I called had me on hold multiple times for a sum of 30 or more minutes with so many reasons and “escalations” they mentioned, and it doesn’t seem like this is being looked into. I asked for a reference number this time to ensure I can make countless follow-ups just to confirm my AMF Waiver eligibility.
