I could make a a giant list of why in home has ALWAYS been been better for me and my clients.

Like honestly in my experience in home is so much better specifically with the clients I’ve had. Some might be chill in center depending on a lot of different things but in general the center is too chaotic. These clinics need WORK..

Joe, Max and Nathan

Okay but like why would Nathan send Max that lead hand deckhand text message? What’s the point? If Joe made him lead while he’s on, cool and if and when Nathan comes back then what? And if Joe doesn’t while he’s bosun then he won’t pick anyone unless he backs him like what is his motive. If I was Max I literally wouldn’t even care he was rude and short af with replies about Joe because he jealous Joe has a better flow. SO DUMB!🤦🏻‍♀️🙄

Remote supervision

If you are a BCBA who CONSISTENTLY asks to join last minute. And yes, I’m talking every time I have supervision. Just know that I hate you and I have never met another BCBA so unorganized, and chaotic. Do better because it can be done right.

Since my last post was denied forgot knows what reason. If you work for Centria this new continuous care thing is not working out. Absolutely not. I’m not a super human dude. Probably someone who has NEVER worked ABA came up with it. Possibly insurance did is what BCBA said. Which again they know nothing about anything except robbing people of money. I’m extremely over it dude. Might need to leave the field. This benefits absolutely NO ONE. ABA field needs some serious work before it’s going to improve.

My BCBA has told a coworker she is not allowed pull her arm away from a pinching client or gently move his hand away from pinching when he does it. My client is a bitter when they are upset with something sometimes. I’m telling you right now I’m walking or pulling away from that before it happens if I can see it coming. We DO NOT need to take abuse of any kind. And it feels like we are reinforcing that behavior if you don’t protect yourself and keep allowing it to happen.🤷‍♀️

With my company getting raises WERE an obtainable thing for every tech when I was there in 2021-2022. Left for school came back and they have this ridiculous “Continuous care scoring” crap. Basically we are expected to be inputing data EVERY 3 MINUTES. Sorry but there are so many reasons this is not cool. What if they are not in HRE, what about meals, bathroom breaks/diaper changes? I have a two year old client. You think they want me in their face every 3 minutes? No they don’t. And that personally would make me reject trials. I don’t even consistently have enough LO’s for that. I could keep going on and on with reasons as to why this is not sensible. Also the Ipad we use is to record data and need to be also be used for REMOTE supervision.. So you’re telling me I need to run over to my iPad every 3 minutes during supervision to record my data. Comical AF. This is EXTREMELY cookie cutter which is not what we should ever be expecting from those on the spectrum. So not a standard every tech has the opportunity to get which is unfair obviously. My BCBA’s solution to this was “jUsT pUt In AbC dAtA”..🥴 Random behaviors?! Nah. Also she doesn’t even know if ABC data even would count towards this. It’s ridiculous. Seems like the person/people who came up with this new standard has never worked in the ABA field.. Another new annoying rule. Don’t tell parents they can’t use a leash on THEIR child..🙄 That’s not up to them it can literally be used for safety so I’m not cool with that. No wonder this company is not longer on the best to work for.
