‘Below Deck’ Star Nathan Gallagher Arrested on Domestic-Violence Charges
rollingstone.comCooper Commenting on Bunny’s Post & Bunny’s Response
First off- any racially motivated comments and/or death threats are obviously never, ever ok to anyone.
Secondly, I do think it’s unfair to call out Chef Joy & Kayley crying on the show in private, as they only talked about feeling like they failed in their positions & weren’t bad mouthing the guests when crying. You could tell the crying/feelings of failure were legitimate & very raw also.
Nathan can’t do the job
I don’t why I haven’t seen more posts specifically talking about this, but before any of these allegations came out I’ve been seething to see Nathan back as bosun. Personality aside, he’s not very good at his job. The last season he was bosun on deck so many things went wrong, I was shocked to see him back this season and within the first charter the boat crashed. Captain Sandy has a real soft spot for him and she treats him with kids gloves every time he messes up.
And then on his personality. He can’t emotionally regulate himself, he’s gets angry at his crew for smiling. He has no concept of leading group morale by having a positive attitude instead he openly swears and shouts at the people below him. Then he threatens to physically harm Joe on a night out for saying Gaels name. No person in a position of leadership should ever be able to get away with behaviour like that. If anyone else on the boat behaved like that they’d likely be seriously reprimanded or fired. But instead it’s not even a conversation. He keeps telling us what a good guy he is but I don’t see it anywhere.
I think the message he sent to Max in the final scene of the most recent episode is very revealing. His priority in the boat isn’t to just do the best job he can and let his work speak for itself, instead it’s to extinguish any possible threat to his ego. Is Joe a back stabbing guy? Yes he is, but it would be short sighted to expect that the person right under you didn’t have some ambition to be in your role. The answer to that competition for him is to triangulate things and he does this whilst being off the boat away with his girlfriend and baby. It gives you some insight into his priorities and state of mind.
So far I don’t think I’ve seen a bosun who has lasted this far considering how many times he’s messed up. But then to be asked back again? Am I crazy? IMO Nathan should still be a deckhand and he should undergo some leadership training alongside some therapy before he’s even considered for the position.
Joe’s Feng Shui
Joe rearranging the floaters and showing Capt. is giving the same energy as when you moved your bedroom furniture as a kid and showed your parents. OMG mom look, new room new me.
Rob or Rob”ish”
I couldn’t find anything on google or Kohl’s, and I could be tripping…. but do y’all think this is Rob, or maybe they just look similar?
Did something really bad happen during the last episode? Why did the primary think she was discriminated against
I basically skimmed through the episode cause i’ve been so busy
She keeps getting worse
Also, what the fuck is "eldest daughters" supposed to mean here? 😂
"I own a seven-figure business and distributed two million dollars the last two years"
Charter guest calls on Bravo to intervene in midst of racial and homophobic vitriol, death threats
I feel for them as I saw some of the nasty comments people were leaving, while others were trying to have a respectful discussion.
I do think they should maybe take a social media break rather than fully engaging with all the discourse if it is having a really negative effect on them. Surely they knew uploading that video would likely have some backlash, and alert lots more people to their account?
Unfortunately the Internet will always take it to a place of minority abuse and death threats, but I AM disappointed to see fatphobia, homophobia, racism, etc. coming out of the Below Deck fandom.
That said it’s a little disingenuous to say their only error was being Black, queer and joyful on vacation. I don’t think we’ve really seen much of that joy yet…
ETA: also, ultimately at the end of the day I find it hard to have much sympathy for someone who is earning 7 figures and renting luxury yachts. Death threats and hate speech are disgusting but if we’re talking about privilege…
Gen going after Cooper
I feel like this isn’t being talked about a lot bc of the guest drama and Nathan/Joe storyline, but Gen going after Cooper the moment he’s “available” is so scummy and strange. Considering how poorly she reacted to people talking positively about Luke and Joy still talking to him, I can’t believe she would do that, especially since Kat is basically her only friend on the boat.
Also her arrogance in saying “I’d eat that boy alive” like she’s better than Kat and that Cooper would by default be into her. Also, worth noting she is younger than Cooper so calling him a “boy” in that tone seems strange. She oscillates wildly between delusional self confidence and absurd insecurity.
She was comforting Kat and saying she doesn’t deserve that treatment but then turns around and tries to very awkwardly flirt with him immediately? Crazy.
Kind of insane Nathan would post this on Instagram. 10 days after choking her according to Rolling Stones report.
He posted a photo of him with the baby on Jan 7th. 10 days after the assault. And this is one of the comments below. What a maniac.
Ben posts that privilege isn’t being white, it’s receiving government assistance
YIKES
Nathan & Gael
I’m not sure if this was posted yet, but does anyone have info on this? I saw it on threads
Bunny and the Guests
So after watching the entire episode, I see why Bunny and the Guests felt that they deserved more. After all, they were black and
LBGTQIA+. it seems from the post Bunny made about the fact they weren’t the demanding guests that everyone thinks they were.
People!!! The cool towel that one of the guests received upon arrival was practically ripped out of her hand the second she got it! That was just the beginning of the discrimination of Bunny and the Guests! If she hadn’t been black and LBGTQIA+, this would have never happened.
Chef Joy spoke to them about the menu! Apparently because she’s French, she didn’t understand plain English like, “you could do something with avocado” and “how about a crispy rice” as well with that gluten free tempura. The tacos were ridiculous as the Guests aren’t all vegan and there are some meat eaters! Tho the vegans also eat shrimp and why did she not understand that? I’ll tell you why. Because Bunny and the Guests were black and LBGTQIA+! That’s why. Chef was discriminating against them.
Then the stews are under pressure, feeling like they’ve let them down by not giving them exactly what they keep charging their minds about. Why? Black and LBGTQIA+ guests obviously.
The excursion was boring and too hot! Why? You guessed it. Because Bunny and the Guests were black and LBGTQIA+.
Then they want to order à la carte for the final dinner. Different plates, different food, like they’re in a restaurant, not on a yacht with one chef and limited kitchen space. No wonder Bunny put out a statement on SM saying that she wasn’t demanding, she just wanted what she paid for and there’s nothing wrong with demanding she get what she paid for. Why did she feel this way? The crew was trying to discriminate and she had to fight for everything she deserved because she’s black and LBGTQIA+.
I’ve never seen a more victimized set of people on a yacht than Bunny and the Guests in my lifetime. Please, give what empathy you can for their mistreatment and because they kept changing their minds mid meal. Because the Croatian sun didn’t like them. Because they wanted more shrimp dammit!!! Bunny and the Guests deserved far better treatment and would have gotten it had they not been black and LBGTQIA+.

Why don’t they just hire tour guides?
Twice this season we’ve seen stews lead guests on “historical excursions”. Both times it seems like while the stews did their research they were still out of their element. I don’t get why they don’t just hire a professional tour guide for a private group. Can’t cost more than $200 to have a professional leading the group.
Vegan vegetarian but no avocado or guacamole. Hold the watermelon too. Add shrimp at every turn.
Gen breaking glasses
With how Gen has been acting, the attitude towards Kaylee, and how she kept trying clock her on things as small as appetizer dishes for caviar.... I'm surprised production didn't throw in a counter on how many glasses she's broken... Am I tripping, or hasn't she dropped MULTIPLE trays of full drinks???????? And then multiple empty ones while cleaning, as well??? I could be misremembering, so please lmk!
Edit, just to add.. I'm not saying she should be fired or that breaking glasses is a huge deal. It's the irony in her being so quick to point out the tiniest thing about her superior, while she herself is struggling with holding a tray of glasses............ Which is insubordinate as hell, by the way.
Chef Joy commenting on Bunny's latest instagram post.
I thought she was gracious and kind, thoughts?
