Air India: Going down the Drain
After 2-3 years of positive experience on Air India, I had taken a chance and booked international travel with them from Mumbai to Chicago via Delhi, I never fly with them outside India preferring SQ or EY depending on the routes I just got a message saying that my flight to Chicago scheduled in September end is now rescheduled to San Francisco, which is at the other end of USA. I am expected to pay for Chicago to San Francisco out of my own pocket, A business class return fare from Chicago to San Francisco is almost 50% of the cost of the flight from India to Chicago. I can understand airlines are facing issues but if this is the solution they offer, then clearly customer service is not a focus area for Air Inda. I can only blame myself for trusting Air India, never again atleast for international travel. With the awful Indigo mess and now Air India's exemplary customer service, exactly how is the government planning to make India, a hub of international travel.
