Rising Concern Over Street Kids on Lacson.
Kids are once again roaming around Lacson Street, especially near SB, begging for alms and running between vehicles in a very busy area. This is becoming a serious public safety concern. They approach customers aggressively, and when refused money, some respond with insults or rude remarks.
This should not be normalized. The Anti-Mendicancy Law exists to prevent exactly this kind of situation. Instead of helping, giving money only encourages them to remain on the streets exposed to danger, exploitation, and accidents.
The Badjaos may no longer be around, but now these children have become the new street disturbance in the area. Authorities and social welfare offices should step in immediately before something worse happens.
Hoping Mayor Greg and the concerned agencies will finally address this issue seriously.
