what on earth do I do with my hair
okay so I thought I had straight/wavy-ish hair for forever (with the exception of occasional corkscrew curls by my temples) until I realized at the big age of 20 that not everyone’s hair gets curly when it’s humid. I went to the store today and bought mousse, a diffuser, and a knock off denman brush. I know it’s not gonna look perfect and wonderful on day one of trying to take care of it, but it’s less curly than when I was actively trying to straighten it out when it was humid.
Routine:
- Function of beauty shampoo for wavy hair. I shampoo every other day
- L’oréal damage repair conditioner up to my roots every day (I know you’re only supposed to do the ends, but it looks greasy if I don’t do the whole head on non-wash days for some reason)
- function of beauty leave in conditioner for curly hair (didn’t use it today, wasn’t sure if I was supposed to only do mousse)
(new stuff I did today)
- Mark Anthony “Strictly Curls” mousse (I don’t know if I used enough, my friend said two quarters worth, but I panicked when the foam started expanding)
- went through and twirled it up with the denman brush handle
- diffused
- at night I spray homemade rosemary water into my hair, brush through it with a boar bristle brush, and then put a bonnet on (i’ve been doing this for like three years, but i’ve been kinda bad about it for the last ~3 months)
my main questions:
should I be using mousse AND leave in conditioner?
does two quarters of mousse mean two quarters before it starts expanding, or after?
is there anything i’m missing, being dumb about, or that I should add in?
PS I do dye my hair a lot, so it’s kinda damaged
