Reactive dog that won’t listen, any advice?

So I have been walking a lovely girl for about 6 months now. She’s the sweetest, loves pets more than anything and is totally fine around everyone, until she sees a dog. After that, she’s barking at everyone, jumping, pulling, scaring some people, it’s almost impossible to walk her after that. I have a reactive dog myself and have walked others. Most of the time I can distract, deter, and calm them down. But I can’t find something that works with her. She is not food or toy driven, at all. She only really eats one kind of treat and on walks she isn’t even interested in those, so there’s no distracting. For the most part we can deter, but it’s been so nice out lately(aside from all the rain) more dogs are out when we are walking, so it’s become more of an issue. After she sees a dog, I cannot calm her down. I try to sit her down, take a beat, offer treats & pets, nothing. Even if she eventually calms down, once we start walking she’s instantly agitated again. I’ve talked to her mom about it and she works with her. She takes treats and listens better from her mom, but she won’t from me, which I get, my pup is like that as well. However, that means the tricks her mom uses, don’t work for me. I want to be able to help her, especially bc lately there’s been times she’s become more reactive after an incident. Like we run into a dog on our walk, the next day we get to the same spot and she starts barking and pulling. She really is the sweetest girl, she just gets scared. If anyone has any advice, please!!

Coming back from LOA and quitting. My shifts aren’t available to be put up?

Hi so I recently went on an LOA and realized how burnt out and over sbux I’ve become, especially with everything going on recently. So I’ve decided to quit. yay! with that being said, I hope to work as little as possible in my final weeks, however I am seeing that all my upcoming shifts aren’t available to be put up? Can I still find coverage and just notify manager? or is there a policy I have to work a certain number of shifts after an LOA before I am able to put up shifts? I don’t want to end on a sour note, nor do I wish to be fired before my 2-weeks are up lol. Any help is greatly appreciated🤗🤗

LOA for sick family member, can I still get paid?

So I have a sick family member. Recently they’ve gotten much worse and I’ve had to give up so many shifts to take care of them. Additionally in the next month I am moving, have lots of travel and a heavy school semester. I’ve decided to go on an LOA for the month of July to help out my family during this time, but I was wondering if anyone has any similar experiences with this? Would Sedgwick approve a medical leave, or do I have to be ‘sick’ myself. What might I need to ensure they approve my LOA? Any advice on how to deal with Sedgwick would be really helpful!!

Is there a cap for vacation/sick hours

So I have about 60-70 hrs of sick time and 10hrs of Vacation time (recently went on vacation). But I was wondering if there is a cap on sick days? I almost never call off sick (I know I should more lol), nor do I check my hours regularly. But I’ve noticed I’ve been around 60-70 whenever I check and coworkers who call off quite a lot, seem to accumulate a good amount quickly again. If anyone has any input, please let me know. Cuz if there is I definitely need to be calling off more😅

So I am in college and therefore my schedules change every semester based on my school schedule. I transferred to my current store about a year ago as I am a freshman and my store has multiple students. Not to mention, my manager knew I was a student before taking me as it was the whole basis of the transfer. I recently submitted my new availability schedule for my summer semester which is, granted very limited, because I have 2: 5-week classes mon/wed/fri that are from 10a-2:10p in June and July and then a night class 7:10-9:30p tues/thurs. But after those 2 months, my availability would open back up. I then submitted my fall availability which would start after those two months in which every morning but Saturday is open and I can close Fri-Sun. I only ask for 15-25 hours bc school is my main priority and my availability meets the minimum requirement so I don’t think I am asking for too much. But both requests were denied. I have many problems with my current store, and have been considering transferring for a bit, mainly bc of how far away it is from me. Now I think I have to if she won’t accept my availability but is there even a chance a store wants me to transfer now with my limited availability? I have also considered taking if an LOA if absolutely necessary but I really need the hours. If anyone has any advice pls lmkkk. Thank you!
