Question for shift supervisors or anyone that knows the answer

Is it normal to stay on warming for my entire shift? Lately each time I go into work 4-7 hour shifts, I’ve been only on warming OR drive thru. I don’t know how to take it up with anyone and im genuinely starting to forget drinks.

Sick/vacation time etiquette

I’m pretty sure I’m going to put my two weeks in. But I have about 30 hours of sick time. How does sick time work? If I call out on a 5 hour shift, can I only use 5 hours of sick time?
I also have some vacation time accrued. Can I use this anytime?
Thanks!

WHY DON'T PEOPLE KNOW UP HOW TO CLEAN UP AFTER THEMSELVES

grown people leave trash everywhere, make a disgusting mess in the bathrooms, you would think its their first day on earth or something. how did you make it this far in life without gaining any kind of civic sense.

it just feels so disrespectful and i cant imagine going somewhre and leaving that much of a mess for some poor soul to clean up

Am I crazy or are we the last to know about this?

Orange cream beverages now? Are they at least going to remove something to make room for the orange flavor?

cold bar is so ARGHSHHSAKS

everyone’s probably tired of all the complaining abt the cold bar drinks (and more incoming!!) on this sub but BRO. i have deadass gone through multiple shifts not making a SINGLE THING on hot bar (except those fuckass iced espressos with a gazillion customizations) for almost my entire shift. for some reason ppl in my area just love refreshers and frappes sooooo much.

i get so many refreshers backed up on cold bar that i don’t even use the shakers anymore i just make it in the cup and shake it a little and put it out 😭😭 i’m so done THANK GOD IM LEAVING SOON

No call no show due to family death

I was supposed to work this morning 4-8:30. I did a NCNS (Unacceptable, I know) when I found out my brother was found dead at 2 am. I was inconsolable and I completely zoned out the fact I had to work. My SSV called me at 4:01 and I just let it ring. I eventually just locked myself in the bathroom and cried until I felt weak. I still haven’t responded to any coworkers or my sm. I’m debating on shooting my SM a text instead of calling her back because i’m genuinely in no mood to talk. How do I go about this? I have a perfect attendance record so I don’t care about getting a write up for this

There are 34 different base drinks for refreshers

Obviously most of these are different variations of the same drink but it’s still wild to see 34 different drinks 😭

Unionizing?

Is it worth it to try and unionize my store? I’m one of the older ones here (F 29). Most of the people I work with are 16-18 or very early 20’s and 90% of them don’t know what a union is when I brought it up to them casually. Our store is only a few years old and I’ve only been here since May. From talking to one of our SSV’s, the last person that tried to unionize was fired, and the people that signed union cards, our DM came in and threw them out and none of them work here anymore. I’m only working here until I finish my degree at ASU but I’d like to make a difference in the time that I’m here and hopefully help the younger generation that would come in to work here and don’t know that they’re being taken advantage of. Is it worth it though? The SSV said the other stores that unionized were closed already. Should I just take my paycheck each week and go home? If anyone else has unionized what has been your experience? Thanks!

401K weekly pay

I was hoping somebody can help me. With weekly pay coming into effect in early August I had a question about my 401(k) contributions.

Say I take out 15% each paycheck to go into my future roast but that’s on a biweekly basis now that we’re getting weekly pay is 15% gonna continue coming out every week or are they going to split it to 7 1/2% per paycheck? I’m genuinely confused because I am so used to biweekly and just getting a certain amount taken out.

I didn’t see anything on the weekly update about it, but it did say healthcare payments are going to be adjusted per paycheck and I didn’t know if that apply to 401(k) as well or if like the cup fund contributions, partners might need to make an adjustment.

how to sequence iced espressos and shaken esprrssos

i’m usually on cafe bar so i often get tickets for iced espressos with like 10 customizations or brown/reg iced shaken espressos with 10 customizations. it messes up my rhythm tbh and i have to stop what about doing to read the grocery list of a ticket. Idk how people get these and keep making drinks fast because very like 20 mins i’ll get one and I’ll just stop and have to take like 5 mins on it.

No more drink mark outs allowed 30 minutes before/after shift???

So I recently was told by my manger we can no longer get our free drink before or after our shift, I’d have to pay for it if I wanted it before I clock in. Not only that but we arnt allowed to order a drink until our break, AND in addition to that we now have to only order what we can finish during the break, can’t have it in a plastic cup (must be for here cups or our own) AND we cannot take any beverage out of the store.

My manager says this is now nation wide but I can’t find anything about this new rule, has anyone else been told this BS???

Worth reaching out to HR?

I have a problem with my SM and I’m debating whether or not to reach out to HR just to document issues before they escalate and affect my employment status.
It was my SM’s behavior towards me which was 100% against our policy.
I’m just worried that HR might not do anything and he’ll just start discriminating me and making my work harder.

Will HR actually do something about that or I’m just wasting my time with this?

Physical partner card

Just got mine in the mail and... peeling it off the card it came on took half the back off. they're cardboard now just like the gift cards? i remember when they were actually plastic (I'm a rehire) and could withstand a brief rainshower before disintegrating :(
