raise rant
Put us thru a year of hell, terrible staffing, and lying ablut menu changes then give us the lowest raise in years. My first raise in 2024 was 1.5x higher than this one. What. The. Hell.

I’m currently trying to call into work and it’s like a hour before my shift but my stores phone is dead or something and I can’t reach my assistant manager, my store doesn’t currently have a store manager only a temporary one and I don’t have his number. I texted my ASM that I’m calling in and that the phone isn’t working but idk if that’s enough.
hi! im a new starbucks worker and im neurodivergent as well and dont pick up on certain things, are there any unspoken rules or unspoken expectations? like things we’re supposed to do or not supposed to do that wouldn’t really be mentioned out loud but just assumed? thank you!
Why do drive through times matter ? Like if we have good times, then we have better stats and this does ….. what exactly ? This means our store manager gets a bonus and we get f*** all ?
Like truly what is the reason … why is it so serious ?
My manager told us today that in order to call out of work, you must call the store and then call her personal cell? Is this right? I’ve never had to do this with any previous managers and just seems like a control thing to me
I first made these about a year ago when I started, and now I’m becoming a trainer soon so I had to create an updated version lol. Can’t wait to create a little “study book” for my trainees, and any tips from barista trainers would be very much appreciated!!
Asking here bc I couldn’t find anything in any updates
My manager and some of the SSVs allegedly started telling baristas that we aren’t allowed to take $100’s in the DT, we aren’t allowed to do gift cards in DT, and people aren’t allowed to add things to their order at the window. As far as I know these things are things that have always been allowed according to standard… I wouldn’t put it past SB to make new dumb rules out of nowhere but are these legit rules that were in some kind of update or is my manager just saying stuff?
EDIT: Thank u all for ur feedback and advice, I definitely needed to hear from others before making a decision. With that, I’ve decided not to take the job. I wish all of u luck in ur Starbucks careers 🫡
Anyone else have/used to have a lot of face piercings?? I have 11, and I wasn’t made aware of the dress code until my interview with the DM, and was shortly after offered the job 🤦🏻♂️
I was informed that I can have exactly 1 face piercing, then I was told I have the job if I want it and to get back to them when I’ve made my decision. The whole process has gone smoothly, and the managers I’ve interviewed with have been very nice and professional! But I’ve had face piercings since I was 16 and it’s kind of a big part of who I am (I’m 24 now).
I’m just conflicted. I really want this job for various reasons, but of course the one thing it hinges on is something that makes me uncomfortable. My current job lets me have all my piercings, but that’s the only thing about that job that I actually like at this point.
I want this job, so I might be willing to do whatever I have to. I just don’t know if that’s the right decision. This is mostly a vent but if anyone has any tips or can give me the pros of working there I’d really appreciate it
Title is pretty self explanatory. But my store manager who has been with Starbucks longer than I have been alive, suddenly got fired, no two-week notice or anything.
The thing is, everyone at my store loves her. So do the customers, and every manager in our district. She’s genuinely such a good manager. She’s fantastic at her job, and she shows she cares about us a lot too. Nobody at our store can imagine what she could have done. Because of this, a bunch of my coworkers are quitting or transferring.
She is trying to appeal it, so we don’t really know why she got fired as she can’t tell us yet.
What could she have done that’s so bad? Nobody could imagine her doing anything worth this response (let alone at all)
Just got offered the new job today, putting in my two weeks notice tomorrow. This is the fastest a job has ever burned me out, I miss being able to wear things with color, having acrylic or gel nails, and not smelling like coffee and regret everytime I leave work. The Siren had my soul for eight months, and now I'm free. Currently in my room making myself a set of gel nails to put on when I get home from my last day of work.
I’ve been on bar for 9 hours 😃 i think im about to throw a steaming pitcher out the drive thru window. For clarification, I worked a double today at another store and was on bar the whole
time there and then got back to my store and was on bar the whole time here.
Hey, im struggling with a solution here. My store has gone through a bit of a turnover with a bunch of new green beans, I truly do understand my shifts leaning on me a little more as a tenured partner, but lately I feel they've been just making me do everything they can and more than I can handle. Like why the hell am I solo barring memorial day weekend after school rush when we have a 5 floor? But the issue is, if i go to my manager, it'll get back to those shifts who will quickly figure it out and then istg they'll be talking about how I'm on a "hate list" for being a "snitch". But if I dont go to someone theyre just gonna keep making me do everything. They'll just go to the back and be "doing the pull/count" for HOURS.
And then theres the issue of if I go to my GM theyll start banding against me cause I've gotten frustrated with them. Though I do have a witness to the unfair task delegation.
I've been allergic to nuts and treenuts most of my life so I finally started seeing an allergist to get the OK on eating some stuff with them and why is the pistachio cream cold brew and the dubai bite so mid?? I feel betrayed lowkey bc I wasted a food markout on it 💔
If anyone has any pistachio sauce reccs lemme know but I'm mad lowkey
I just started working at starbucks a little bit over a month ago. i’ve learned pretty much everything but I don’t know how to prep specific things. I’ve learned how to make whips and vanilla sweet cream. I’m wondering how to make things like mocha, frappe roast, white mocha, chai etc. because if i ever get asked to then i don’t want to be a burden and want to know how to do it without help. I know some of these just get poured directly into the container but some of them require specific steps like mixing in water or something. can anyone help me out? it would be great if you could tell me what to date dot them for as well:)
So I need feedback about a certain customer who comes in and asks for a certain drink. He asked for a iced doppio espresso with half and half and whipped cream now. Correct me if I'm wrong but isn't that a ice Dopio campana? And when I price them out for that he pretty much says other people at the store price me out just for an iced dopio espresso with half and half and whipped cream and he doesn't want to pay for a compana was I wrong and should I ask my manager what to do next time?
After waiting 2 weeks after I was hired to even get my background check to send to my email and do my onboarding.. now it’s been another 4 days and I haven’t gotten my partner numbers and my background check says this..?
Am I just freaking out over nothing, what does this mean? I have a clean record. I didn’t lie about any jobs on my resume and have no criminal record..? The only thing I did was combine two jobs into one because I literally did the same exact position at a different store location twice.
My first shift is on Monday, should I be worried? What does this mean?
so basically, someone picked up my shift for today, but i guess it either put them into ot or they just did it by accident, because when i opened my scheduling app this morning it said it was covered and no offering, but i opened it 2 hours later and it says someone's offering a 13.5 hour shift that includes my original time 😭
i already picked up a shift at another store that coincedes with this time because my family has an important event going on tonight, so what do i do here heeeelp
UPDATE now im being asked to come in because im a keyholder and the og shift called out 😭 NOW what do i do
