Blackwall might be my favorite

I've always appreciated the synth tracks on previous albums as cool breaks, but never as much as the rest of their albums and their metalsound. On APWD however, I think blackwall has great melodies, good drive and the most interesting and exploring structure. I love how they develop the "hello" idea and the extended middle section. Spencer's voice is also absolutely perfect on this song. I think it perfectly captures the theme and vibe of the album, and is the most emotionally capturing and intruiging to me. It feels mysterious and beckoning.

I definetly didn't expect it to be one of my top picks from the album, as the synth tracks rarely are, and I feel kind of weird about it since i'm mainly a metalfan. But I can't really fault it for anything and have found myself returning to it more than any of the other tracks so far.

That's not to say the rest of the album is bad, I found it kind of underwhelming on first listen but it is rapidly growing on me. I already love Mr God, Heaven on High, Subhuman, Malevolent and Carry On as well. Talk and Unlocking are also really improving for me. But as of right now, I'd pick blackwall as the strongest and most memorable track as of right now (at least one of the top tracks) and I certainly don't think of it as just a fun feature or break as I do with the other synth track. My feelings might change as I sink into the album more.
