Which are some recommendations for students that just arrive?

For example cheap places to eat, things to bring, things that should be bought at first, places to visit in Jeddah, etc.

Hi, I will be joining KAUST in Fall, and I wanted to know how easy is for a Ms student for save money? I saw in the FAQs they mention the average spending is about $1400 USD, how accurate is that amount? My other question is related it is possible to make money with investments as a student? Also I saw that student can't work for obvious reasons, but I don't know how it is related with investments

Good phones for 1300 USD?

Recently I saw the s26 ultra with 512GB for $21,997 MXN ($1260 USD) in Amazon, when the price for the phone at the official store is $37,999 ($2,190 USD) and while searching I saw is the same price at the official store in the US, so there isn't any discount

Which phone around that same range do you recommend? O should I go with the s26 ultra?

Just as extra information I currently have an Oppo Reno 12F, so this will be my first flagship

Smartphone experience queries

Hi, I will be studying abroad in another country so I want to change my phone to avoid spending a lot of money while studying. Currently I have an Oppo Reno 12F, it is a great phone but the charging port is starting to fail and it doesn't have ESIM compatibility, reasons why I want to change it.

My first options were the base model iPhone 17 or base model galaxy s26, then I saw the s26 ultra at a price of the base model. However watching some reviews in YouTube I still doesn't sure is the better option specially because it lacks charger, native magsafe, the low battery capacity and the slow "fast" charge.

I also was watching other phones from other companies like the Oppo Find X9, Xiaomi 17T Pro, etc.

With this kind of entry flagship, what has you experience been? Which problems do you have experienced? How much have you spent in accessories? Etc.

And what it would be you recommendation for a phone with

ESIM compatibility

Magsafe/Wireless charging

More accessories included with the phone

Good components and performance

Good camera quality

Etc.

Thanks and sorry for so much text, but I really don't want to spend a lot of money and to then regret it
