What are your ideas for a Warlock?

Hey there, its been a while! i've been away for a few weeks because life happens sometimes. again, i feel like some positivity is nice to spread arround from time to time, and im curious about your ideas for characters again.

this time i want to ask about warlocks: did they do a pact to gain power or did they steal the power? do they have to deal with the orders or their patron? is it devils, undead or just jeff, the guy that works at the local market? we listen, but we dont judge. people are allowed to say some things that come to their head or ask a question as long as its done in good will.

i want to know about the inspiration (a character idea you came up with or something from a work of fiction?), the races, the classes, the stories, your experiences with this character, strategies...

to start, i would like to bring up a few examples of characters i made:

-Ensted Da'Mont: a man that has lost all of his fortune due to being betrayed by other noblemen. sold his soul to a devil so he could gain power and slowly take care of them... one by one.

-Amanda: a girl acused of apostasy, Amanda had to run away from her village and was about to starve to death until she came to a cult. they venerated a dead elven god, and they planned to let nature overtake the land and destroy the civilization of man, a mission that she gladly accepted. its a homebrew subclass im working on (pact of the forest, still in progress).

What are your ideas for a Bard?

Hi everyone! this is my third post asking about the classes! I am not asking for advice, i just want to learn more about how you create your characters. This time i want to learn about your bards: are they spoony or are they serious? do they use an instrument and avoid fights or do they seek to fight and use instruments... of murder?

Remember: we listen, but we dont judge so feel free to talk about your characters backstory, stats, classes, races, modus operandi, strategies, inspiration...

a few characters i planned to put some examples:

-Evangelynne, the psychologist: a human Bard of the College of Whispers (at least the version im making of college of whispers) that tries to get power by manipulating and pulling strings.

-Anaure, the dancer: a Yuan Ti mother that has to take care of her young child, so she works asa a dancer. started as a combination of Bard and Monk before i started making my own Dancer class.

What are your ideas for a Artificer

Hi, everyone, im back again! I come asking not for advice, but to satiate my curiosity.Last post about Barbarians wasnt enough, i need to learn about more of your characters. This time i want to learn about why you make your artificers. we listen, but we dont judge: did you take inspiration on another character or on something else? stats, background? what made you create this character?

Here are a few characters i made:

-Madeleine, the herbalist: artillerist artificer. instead of using metals, nuts and bolts, her inventions are made with wood, seeds and a lot of patience and love.

-Rishak, the goblin: a bit of homebrew, but i thought it might be fun. Rishak grew up in a Hobgoblin horde, being treated as a weakling for preffering work ober fighting. his idea? grab the armor of an ogre and turn it into his own mech (armorer artificer).

Summoning and when the summon acts.

I have noticed the a small difference between some spells that allow you to summon creatures and some class features that allow you to have pets or creatures under your control: the class features allow you to control a summon by using your bonus action (like the Beastmaster Ranger controling their companion using a bonus action) while a creature summoned by a spell takes it's turn right after the summoner's turn and only needs a verbal comand and not an action (like with the spell Summon elemental)

my question is: shouldnt it be the other way around? my logic for this is a companion has a will of it's own and should be able to act by itself, while a creature you summon might need indication on what it should do (also, it makes the companion you get with a class feature more powerfull than the summon).

what do you think?

What are your ideas for a barbarian

Hi, everyone! i come asking not for advice, but to satiate my curiosity. i want to know ¿what barbarian characters have you made or plan on making? no judging, just listening, you can have homebrew, you can talk about stats, you can talk about backstory...

a few examples, to break the ice:

-Miver Gota: a wood gnome barbarian, with the path of the totemic spirit (boar). think monkey dn luffy, but shorter than 4 feet tall, with freckles and ginger spiky hair. also, he rides a boar.

-Taurus, the fire storm herald: he isnt really a minotaur, just a bull onder the true polimorph spell. seeks vengeance against the humans that ate his familly and trapped him to participate in gladiatorial fights.

"They are weak, but if you train them they become really good" A.K.A "the Magicarp Power"

  1. Magicarp: he only knows moves like tackle, flail and splash (a useless move). even the pokedex calls this poor fish weak. At level 20, Magicarp evolves into Gyarados, a terrifying water/flying combat machine.

  2. Waterboy: Waterboy is a janitor in SDN (Waterboy is another name for a member of the sports team who brings water to the other players and little else), he is shy, stutters and cant stand up for himself. also, he starts with really low stats.

when he starts leveling up, he can heal other team members and cover weaknesses. also, he starts gaining confidence and beats up three guys at once.

  1. Est: a pegasus knight (a class known for being weak to arrows and pretty frail) with a lower level than her sisters. help her level up, and her stats grow fast, turning her into a valuable member of the team.
