Should have listened to you guys.

Hey, me again.

A few days ago i asked in this sub what to do next and I want to thank all of you for the replies.

Most of you said I should start as young gun and not Terran cadet...I didn't listen. Now I set up my HQ after the first few story missions, everything good so far but now I wanted to get some more scounts and miners and I can't find any shipyard next to me. The only 2 I found are controlled by MIN and I don't have docking permission. I started camping the stations and waiting for criminal traffic to get my rep up but it has been about 2 hours and I only saw 1 criminal. Can I do anything else to raise my rep with MIN? I don't have any missions I could accept from them. I saw 1 earlier but I couldn't do it since I didn't have enough mines for it and can't dock/restock anywhere nearby.

I feel like I should have just gone with young gun like most of you said but now I'm somewhat invested in my current playthrough

EDIT: thank you guys for the help, I took a whole loop on the superhighway (very nice) and found wharfs etc. And now have a little squad of miners that bring me some consistent money. I'll now continue with a few small missions and work on my HQ o7

What now?

Hey there, I'm new to x4 (just bought it a few days ago and set up my hotas and head tracking) I did all the tutorials and now I'm curious as to what to do next, I don't have the timeline dlc because I don't enjoy structured campaigns usually, should I just hop into open world as a Terran cadet (seems like the best start for now for me) or get the timelines dlc and play through that first? Is that stuff hard structured or does it feel like somewhat open world sandboxy too?
