Hi all,

When I was a kid, a very old patron at our local library used to record movies and TV shows on VHS and just hand them out to whoever. He gave my parents a bunch, so I had all sorts of movies from him - anime, kids' shows, movies - I never questioned it because I was pretty young. Pretty funny in retrospect.

Anyway, one of the recordings was of what I recall being an animated made-for-TV movie, potentially on ABC in the 90s or early 2000s. Here are some plot points I recall:

• Protagonists were a boy and girl, brother and sister perhaps?
• They called an old woman "popo" - it may have been their grandma
• They are forcibly fed dumplings (maybe bao buns?) at some point by a witch or some other malevolent figure
• Part of the plot revolves around them trying not to anger spirits, but the boy accidentally steps on a snail, causing the spirits to become enraged
• The time period is fuzzy to me, it could have been that the two protagonists were transported back in time to their ancestors' era, but they were modern kids (for the 90s)

That's about all I can remember. The VHS didn't have a label, and the movie actually started past the title screen so I don't think I EVER knew the title!
