Bought the Galaxy Book 5 360 and now I’m treating it like a cursed relic — any POSITIVE experiences?
Alright r/GalaxyBook, here’s my confession.
I bought the Galaxy Book 5 360 a week ago, and I’m emotionally attached to it in a way that would be a red flag in any human relationship. If this laptop had boundaries, I’d be violating all of them.
Meanwhile my ("old") Lenovo Ideapad Flex 5 is 7 months old, perfectly fine, never had a single issue — basically immortal — but the internet convinced me it was made of damp cardboard (especially the hinges).
So I panicked, grabbed the Galaxy Book for 700€ (a very good deal, by the way), and called it an adult responsible decision.
Sure. Let’s all pretend.
Then the Reddit Effect™ kicked in — you show up happy, and suddenly every post is a prophecy of doom written by someone who sounds like they’re broadcasting live from a disaster zone.
I fell into the screen cracking discourse — suddenly it’s treated like a fragile celebrity having a meltdown under bright lights.
At least the hinge is fine.
r/GalaxyBook hasn’t invented a hinge apocalypse yet.
Now I’m handling this laptop like it’s a cursed museum artifact, while my brain behaves like a raccoon next to a trash can, diving into posts I know will ruin my evening.
People make it sound like:
– the hinge is fine but I am not
– the screen is a diva with performance anxiety
– the chassis is solid but my mental stability isn’t
– and the laptop is perfectly normal — it’s me who’s allergic to existing
I don’t want horror stories.
I want the boring stuff — the “it works, I forget it exists” vibe. Even from other models owners (Because the issue is not "model related", as far as i know)
Basically:
Tell me this thing isn’t a ticking anxiety piñata.
Thanks — my sanity and whatever’s left of my dignity appreciate it.
EDIT:
also have a free 3‑month Samsung Care+ subscription, but I trust them about as much as I’d trust a kid who thought chasing a clown into a sewer was a good idea (from what i read on this channel, samsung it's a mess with warranties).
After that, I was thinking of switching to Fixxy (an Italian insurance company), which for a very reasonable yearly price (142.99€) would cover this laptop better than a blanket made from the hides of a sacred animal. So… any Italians here who actually know Fixxy and can tell me if this whole plan is worth it?
