Feel like I’m losing my mind: No documentation for Intex XTR 18’x36’ on any official forum?
Hey, please tell me if I’m totally bonkers: We bought the Intex XTR 18x36 with QX2100 Krystal Clear saltwater system on Amazon on Prime day, as they were running a pretty good deal. Since then, I’ve spent a few thousand and injured basically every part of my body erecting this behemoth, and after all that time digging and leveling and tamping and leveling and more tamping and more leveling and trying to deal with the fact that there’s no feasible way to sink and level the pavers under the legs without first erecting and partially filling the pool, followed by the sort of torrential rainstorm we’re decidedly not supposed to get in the mild northeast… today was supposed to FINALLY be our moment to hook up the filter hoses and let ‘er rip, and what the actual fuck, the provided hoses are very literally too short to reach the filter without it directly abutting the pool, which seems profoundly unwise.
And like, here’s the thing that has me freaking out. After struggling through the inadequate manuals, and watching all the youtube videos, I’m not feeling confident that this is a genuine Intex product? Intex has NO product listing for an 18x36 pool on its website. Third party sellers are absolutely selling it, but Intex doesn’t seem to acknowledge its existence. And like… it’s not just that the provided hoses physically aren’t long enough to safely attach them to the filter. All of the manuals provided reference a 16x32 as the biggest XTR rectangular frame. Worse, upon further inspection? The QX2100 filter is speced for a 15000 gallon pool; this beast is 18120 gallons - hence, I’m sure, the too-short filter hose issue, this filter was obviously intended for a slightly smaller pool.
All this to say…is it possible I purchased and built a… counterfeit? Is anyone aware of ANYTHING whatsoever acknowledging this thing as a legitimate product?
