My Final for my 2nd painting intermediate class
Untitled 2026
Oil paint, Beads, String
72”x 54”
This painting is a self-portrait about self-love and hate, and how they are not as simple as they seem. The purple side represents self-hate, but it still loves you differently way. I did different shades of blues and reds cause self hate isn’t just sadness or anger, it can be both. I made the purple side self portrait face more texture to represent the layers of emotions, and how it isn't just simple self hate. The yellow side represents self-love but to a point where you become an asshole to everyone around you. I did it in a bright yellow cause it is welcoming but sometimes bright yellows can be a cautious warning for people. The yellow side self portrait have no texture in the face to represent how they feel very clear about what they clear about who they are.
