Light kit troubleshooting

I got this lighting kit from AliExpress, and it worked perfectly the first day (as shown in the second picture).

The next day, I tried turning it on, but it wouldn’t work at all.

I ordered a new USB port (3rd picture) and connected it, and it started working again, but only the left side lights up.

Things I’ve already tried:
Switched the power wires around to see if that was the issue.

Checked for any pinched or damaged cables.

Swapped the boards around to test if one was bad.

None of those fixed the issue, so I’m kind of stuck at this point and not sure what else to try. If you guys have any tips or ideas, I’d really appreciate the help.

First time this has happened and wondering on what I should do?

I ordered a lighting kit for the Arkham Asylum Lego set and saw that it was being returned. This is the first time that happened to me. Should I just wait it out or contract the seller?

Finished building the Arkham Asylum clone

Highly recommend

Lots of fun to build. It took me about 2 days to finish.

The rooftop is misaligned. I think it was on my end, I just ended up taking off all the studded tiles and replaced them with flat tiles.

The stickers are very dim, but they’re alright.

The figs are okay; the printing on them was grainy.
I got this from AE for $55 w/free shipping, and Lego is $300.

The instructions were so crammed that I decided to try out the Lego online instructions.
