Talk me into/ out of a Subaru legacy
Second time car buyer, current one is a bit of a beater so I definitely value reliability and low risk of future repairs. I’m heavily considering Subaru Legacy (2015-2017), however Honda accord has been on my radar as well. Personally I prefer the Subaru, it feels way more like me, I love the interior and all the features it offers. On the other hand pretty much everyone suggests that the accord is a way safer bet long term due to their stellar reputation and performance. I don’t like it as much as the legacy though. I will be financing with a dealership who will find an auction vehicle for me of whatever make/ model I decide on. If Legacy is too big of a risk when it comes to long term investment, I’ll be looking for a Honda despite not being as fond of the way it suits my taste since I have to be an adult about it and prioritize a more wallet-friendly future in terms of gas, repairs, maintenance etc (ugh). Is there anything I should consider or know before making the decision?
Additional info: I appreciate the awd but don’t necessarily need it all year round; I do like to go on roadtrips but will mostly be using the car for commute; I would prefer to have a moonroof/ sunroof; the car from the auction will have a clean title for sure but no guarantee of condition - just “surface level good”, so nothing catastrophic or clearly faulty.
