Predictions for 2032?

I hope this doesn’t go against the rules, I’m not trying to doom-post! Would just love a conversation around this and thought it could be interesting.

What do you think the world look like (particularly our industry) in 5 years? Take an educated guess / your best prediction.

Not just looking for AI predictions (although that’s all anyone can seem to talk about), moreso what do you think industry will look like in a broader sense. Branding and advertising is changing so quickly, motion is getting so fast, social media is still huge… but what do think is next?

I’ve been working for 13+ years, my husband is also in creative industry. It is changing so fast, but the big difference for me is that I’m struggling to picture what the next 5 years will look like. Before 2020, never had that issue - could easily predict what my career would look like and where it was headed. Now I’m just not sure.

I’ve been with a company for over 8 years and am in a lower management position. Up until recently, I felt like a really valued employee. I’m on a full-time contract.

After taking a year of maternity leave, I returned to work in Feb this year on 3 days a week, with the clear expectation that I’d move up to 4 days and then back to full-time fairly quickly.

I recently let my workplace know I’m ready to move to 4 days, and they’ve now said this is dependent on our billing’s. This has completely blindsided me, as it was never raised that my return to agreed hours would be conditional on workflow.

I have an interview with another company next week, but I’m hesitant to go straight back to full-time work - my daughter is still nursing, and flexibility is really important to me right now. I don’t know if I have the energy or time to go into a new role and prove myself again.

At this point, I’m not sure whether this is something I just need to accept, or whether I should be seeking advice from an employment lawyer - and if so, what the next steps would be??
