Outfit of the day and experimentation

I love it when I randomly come up with a new outfit. Well, not completely out of the blue—I’d be lying—but more like by just pushing things a tad further.

Like here, by layering and adding this denim shirt underneath my Bronson Type 1 jacket. It really takes the whole outfit to another level.

Don't get me wrong, it takes some trial and error to find a look that feels right in the moment, depending on my mood, my mindset, or the weather...

That's always my main goal: finding an outfit that just feels good and hits the right spot for a specific situation. Does that make sense?

With time, it doesn't necessarily get easier, but it gets smoother because you start to enjoy the process of playing around and mixing items... trying things in a new way, like a door suddenly opening up. Sometimes, pieces you would have never expected to work together just click because you found the right balance and vibe.

Enjoy the process and have fun exploring!

Don't hesitate to share your thoughts on your own process or on my post and outfit. I enjoy sharing ideas.

Outfit of the day and some thoughts on my personal style and evolution

Hi everyone, it's been a while since my last post.

Today I wanted to share my outfit of the day but more than that I wanted to share some thoughts of my process when it comes to the way I dress.

Disclaimer, personal style is a never ending journey because there's so much to explore which is fun and exciting to me...

After 20-30 years of exploration with clothing, textures, volumes, colors, I think personal style is the result of getting to know oneself better and matching our clothes not only with our personality, values or even mood... but also to our body shape and type.

What I'm starting to understand for myself is less is more but I had to go through the whole process of trials and errors... since we mainly learn from our own experience right ? Which can make a big difference on the long run.

For years I wanted to look cool, muscular, I was doing fitness to keep that look, but let's be honest, I'm Asian, I'm not tall or big...

So why would I keep trying to be someone I'm not ? Am I crazy or insane ? I guess I was, still am to some extent but maybe a tad wiser. I'm 40 now, it was time right ?

So the more I learn to embrace my own nature, the less tension or pressure I'm putting on myself and body and paradoxically the freer, more confident and aligned I become and the more I learn to enjoy wearing clothes that match my mindset by following my intuition or feeling per se.

To me for example, over the last 2 years, I radically changed the way I dress, I went from rigid relax straight workwear jeans (see my previous posts) to larger and high waisted trousers because I enjoy feeling free of my movements...
I enjoy wearing barefoot shoes or sandales as well since I enjoy the feeling of walking barefoot... so I ended up selling most of my dress or bulky shoes and my "old" clothes that don't match that new mindset... And I got to say, I feel way lighter.

And somehow people around me can feel and see it, I've been getting plenty of compliments but I think it's more about the energy I radiate and how I feel than the clothes I'm wearing. You know what I mean ?
Because I do feel good in my own shoes. I enjoy playing with proportions, textures, layering, colors... I will keep evolving for sure but I will keep in mind that it's for my own sake and pleasure first and not just to impress others. Less is more right ?

I hope that my outfit of the day does justice to my words...
Enjoy and have fun exploring.
