Ridiculous enough?

Yesterday, I made fun of someone's tie. Today, I'm posting a picture for everyone to enjoy as I put on my most ridiculous thrift store collaboration. I'm wearing this to the grocery store. Does it work? What would you change, besides all of it?

Outfit of the day and some thoughts on my personal style and evolution

Hi everyone, it's been a while since my last post.

Today I wanted to share my outfit of the day but more than that I wanted to share some thoughts of my process when it comes to the way I dress.

Disclaimer, personal style is a never ending journey because there's so much to explore which is fun and exciting to me...

After 20-30 years of exploration with clothing, textures, volumes, colors, I think personal style is the result of getting to know oneself better and matching our clothes not only with our personality, values or even mood... but also to our body shape and type.

What I'm starting to understand for myself is less is more but I had to go through the whole process of trials and errors... since we mainly learn from our own experience right ? Which can make a big difference on the long run.

For years I wanted to look cool, muscular, I was doing fitness to keep that look, but let's be honest, I'm Asian, I'm not tall or big...

So why would I keep trying to be someone I'm not ? Am I crazy or insane ? I guess I was, still am to some extent but maybe a tad wiser. I'm 40 now, it was time right ?

So the more I learn to embrace my own nature, the less tension or pressure I'm putting on myself and body and paradoxically the freer, more confident and aligned I become and the more I learn to enjoy wearing clothes that match my mindset by following my intuition or feeling per se.

To me for example, over the last 2 years, I radically changed the way I dress, I went from rigid relax straight workwear jeans (see my previous posts) to larger and high waisted trousers because I enjoy feeling free of my movements...
I enjoy wearing barefoot shoes or sandales as well since I enjoy the feeling of walking barefoot... so I ended up selling most of my dress or bulky shoes and my "old" clothes that don't match that new mindset... And I got to say, I feel way lighter.

And somehow people around me can feel and see it, I've been getting plenty of compliments but I think it's more about the energy I radiate and how I feel than the clothes I'm wearing. You know what I mean ?
Because I do feel good in my own shoes. I enjoy playing with proportions, textures, layering, colors... I will keep evolving for sure but I will keep in mind that it's for my own sake and pleasure first and not just to impress others. Less is more right ?

I hope that my outfit of the day does justice to my words...
Enjoy and have fun exploring.

Choosing the Right Jeans

Hey everyone! Thanks a lot for all your enthusiastic help last time with my question about whether flannel shirts should be tucked in. I learned a ton from your responses—it was all new to me, and I really appreciated it.

After doing some more research, I think I’ve found a style I like even more: basically wearing a shirt tucked into my pants, paired with a tank top underneath so it peeks out.

However, I’ve noticed that my current Levi’s 505 doesn’t really work with this look. There’s this weird bulge around the waist area. Even though I’m only tucking in a small portion of the shirt, the crotch area ends up looking puffy and awkward rather than clean and structured like I was hoping for.

I’d really like to ask—how can I fix or improve this? What kind of pants would work better for this style specifically?

Also, please excuse the dirty mirror and messy background. I don’t have a proper full-length mirror at home, and I was clearly in a bit of a rush. Sorry about the mess!

Ignoring “dry clean only” advice labels.

Came across a great pair of forest green relaxed cut paul smith trousers today which were unfortunately dry clean only.

I have been avoiding clean only as with three kids it simply means I do not wear it.

Talking to colleagues though some are ignoring this and putting dry clean only items in their washing machine with gentle cycles, low heats and lingerie bags.

Anyone had experience of doing this? Is this madness?

Advice needed for summer wedding outfit.

August wedding, going with navy linen pants, blue hopsack jacket. Thought this was going to look good, but the white buttons are throwing me off. Suggestions for a different shirt or am I just trying too hard? Also, would a pocket handkerchief be odd looking?

Thanks in advance.

Casual bookstore summer wedding. What do we think?

Going to steam the pants before the day. I also have some Chelsea boots I’m considering swapping for the Paraboots? And tough to tell in the light but the shirt is off-white, and the pants have a slight olive tint. Partner is wearing a light blue dress. Would love any feedback or advice on what could be swapped out, thanks!

[help] seeking wedding suit. Frock coat or tailcoat suit

Hey all. Im seeking a suit for my wedding, but i didn't want to just grab something from the mens warehouse. I'm the kind guy who has developed a personal daily "uniform" over the years. its comfortable and predictable, but I feel like my wedding fit should be special. so ive been looking for a frock coat suit or even a tailcoat suit, just something a little more interesting and less standard. The problem I find myself running into is all the places I've been looking (etsy mostly) have AI generated images for their models, and when I look further into the shop i find that they have only been open for a few month with limited reviews (which all feel kinda fishy to me). So now I ask, where can I find a nice tailcoat or frock coat suit of quality that isn't going to completly break my bank?

Additional info, I'm a bigger guy. just under 6' and weigh in around 300lbs. I have an active job as a cook so I do pack on alot of muscle, but I also have a gut.
