Maybe my favorite so far…
I don’t know why, something about the way the polo and jeans fit on me, but this was my favorite so far.
You know the drill; thoughts / feedback for improvement / tips. Thanks as always!

So I'm looking to move on from the traditional backpack that I've carried to work over the past decade. I really would like to start carrying a briefcase as I'm trying to 'elevate' my style a bit and I think the idea of carrying a backpack is something I've moved on from for now.
I work in a high-tech office which is very, very casual and bringing in a leather briefcase seems like it would make me really stand out and not for the right reasons.
I've somewhat landed on this concept of canvas or twill or whatever its called (I'm new to this world, sorry if I am not using the right terminology here), and have narrowed my choices down to this Blue de Chauffe Ledger or the Tin Cloth Compact from Filson. I thought about the original briefcase from Filson, but I just don't think I'll use that extra space; I'm really just carrying in my laptop, charger, a notebook and thats about it. At $500, the bigger 256 Filson seems overkill hence landing on this more compact version at $299.
The BdC comes in at around $480 when its all said and done with shipping and customs so I'm not opposed to dropping that much, assuming its worth it. The question is, is this bag worth that much? I haven't seen any real world examples of somebody owning this bag, but I do like the idea that it's handmade by one person in a small factory in the countryside of France.
I also looked at Bradley Mountain (seems too big still), Billy Kirk (too simple for me) and one or two options from Japanese manufacturers. Looked at the Cravar 13 in Waxed Twill Olive, but with the shipping and customs cost it really drives the price of the bag up, and even the owner felt like it didn't justify the cost(>$150 just for shipping before duties!).
Any and all advice / tips / other alternatives would be greatly appreciated! Thanks.
Fit for today.
I’m sure there are plenty of things to pick at: button this button, don’t button that one, different jeans, not a v neck undershirt, etc etc. but you know what? I’m having fun trying different ways to style the new clothes I bought, I liked the look in the morning when I got dressed and still did all day today. It felt a bit more elevated than just a normal plain button down and jeans which was ultimately my goal here. And that is half the battle, I think. Thoughts?
And of course, feel free to give any tips on how you might make improvements or changes to the look!
Thanks!
Title says it all, the pants feel a bit too long but I’m not sure if that’s just me or not. If they’re too long, do I cuff them or I have to get them hemmed?
Any other feedback on the fit is greatly appreciated! Thanks as always!
Today was my first time wearing a camp collar shirt, and I have to admit I spent too much time this morning thinking about how to wear it. Buttoned all the way up? Under shirt or no? Leave it unbuttoned? If so, white under shirt or tank top? Under shirt (or tank) tucked in or not.
At the end I just said fuck it, and threw it on with nothing under and buttoned up. How’d I do?
A couple of days ago I posted that I was trying to elevate my style subtly and gradually and posted a pic of the look; navy blue t shirt tucked into some lighter washed jeans, same shoes seen here.
I got a lot of feedback, some I took and some completely useless. But the main one was, tucking a t shirt in doesn’t really elevate anything, I tend to disagree but understand the sentiment.
So here is round two. No t shirt or jeans. I still went back and forth on whether or not to tuck, and ultimately decided to keep it tucked in. In the photo where it’s untucked, I sort of folded inside the bottom ‘ribbed’ part Thoughts from the forum on the tuck here with this look?
I had two people comment today about my ‘new look’ which is actually something I was trying to avoid as I didn’t want to grab attention like that. Not complaining, it was nice to get the compliments, but didn’t want to garner that much attention.
How about the color combo here? Does it work?
I’m not a fan of the belt here, it’s the only one I have at the moment so open to recommendations on what to get instead.
Thanks again!

So I decided to try and elevate my style just a bit and make myself look and feel a bit more put together in the office (even if it is a high-tech office in Israel where shorts and flip-flops are the norm). At the same time, I didn’t want to make a massive transformation that would cause a stir and grab too much attention, I wanted it to kind of fly under the radar, but at the same time, make it obvious that I’m a bit more intentional with my choice of clothes and how I present myself.
So I decided to tuck the t-shirt into my jeans. I normally wore jeans and a t-shirt already so it seemed like a good option to make everything seem more ‘stylish’ without it seeming over the top. I’m just not sure how well I executed the look? Y'all have any pointers for me here (sorry for the awkward bathroom photo)? What are you all doing with your tucks? Leaving them in tight? I heard some of you crazies tuck directly into your underwear? I tried pulling a touch out and draping it over the belt (maybe that’s just me trying to hide my new belly I’ve developed recently, and yes, I’m working on that too as i know being in great shape automatically just makes everything look and fit better).
I also did buy some new knitted polos, knitted ‘polo button downs’ and some camp collar style shirts - but also not entirely sure how to style those as well. Do you all leave them open with a tank or t underneath? Button just a couple of buttons? Button it all the way up? Tuck or not to tuck?
So I’m open to any and all feedback you have on this outfit in particular, or in general on this approach, or just how to make relatively small style upgrades go a long way.
I appreciate you all and thanks for reading / proving feedback!
