Everyone probably has heard this story but for those who have not here is the very short version:

In 1979 Life Magazine featured a Chinese Shar-Pei on its cover and is often credited with saving the breed from extinction.

A Hong Kong breeder named Matgo Law made a plea to the world in a 1973 DOGS magazine article, which eventually led to the massive cover feature in LIFE that skyrocketed the breed's popularity in the United States.

I happen to have a copy of the Life magazine issue, so I thought it might be cool to share it. I have a photo of the cover, then a photo of the inside feature, then another photo of the words separately so you can actually read them. Enjoy.

New to the group. Just wanted to share a couple photos of my 3 baby boys ! I adore these 3 goofballs! Brucey is full pure bred Shar-Pei. Pie is a mix with Cocker Spaniel(so we were told) and Gilbert is a mix with Basset Hound and Pug.
