Ziggy, our long-term foster from a Shar-Pei rescue. Sweet dreams, big boy.

Does anyone’s Sharpei mouth strangers when they are done petting?

To be clear it’s never a bite but it’s a motion where doggo is asking for more pets but the human pulls the hand back faster and the dog starts going for the arm/hand. Never bite but more slobber. Action looks horrible but so does 2 athletes chest bumping until you know they are teammates. Thoughts?

My handsome boy needs a sibling lol

Those of you with two dogs— Would y’all say it’s actually easier having two dogs instead of one, especially with a high-energy puppy?
I
have a super playful puppy, and I’m wondering if getting him a sibling would actually help keep him entertained when I’m busy or not home. Do they really wear each other out, or is it just double the trouble lol?

My Luna crossed the rainbow bridge yesterday

This photo was from 2021. She passed at 8 years old, yesterday. Due to cancer that we were too late to catch and fight.

The most heart wrenching thing that happened to me was feeling her passing. I wasn’t at the vet when it happened. But I felt it. As soon as she passed, I got the text.

This year has already been hard enough. And loosing her was just another gut punch.

I love you and will forever miss you, Luna.

Small lump behind right ear of dog.

I discovered something a bit concerning today. My dog has this round bump behind his right ear. I’ve attached some photos, in the third one my index finger is directly on top of it; the bump gives a little when force is applied.

To me it seems like a bruise of some sort. He did hit his head a week or so ago so I’m HOPING it’s that, however, I just wanted to post something here to see if I should be worried.

Thanks all! (Action shot at the end)

Possible sharpei mix in NJ?

Saw these two babies on Facebook and couldn’t help but notice the pei face, body, and tail. Anyone think they could be mixed? Please reach out to OP if you want more information and/or please spread the word 💕

One week without her.

She was really loved by our cats.

Sadly we all knew it was coming sooner than later, she was to be 15 on september. And has not really walked much in the past 2 years , since she had a problem with her joints, we couldn't really take her on walks because of her condition, so she just rested in the garden.

The first days, I felt like I betrayed her , didnt give her enough attention , didn't take her to enough cool places, etc... But checking back at all the photos we have, I think she had a fulfilling life, I hope shes not mad at us wherever she is.

This is a reminder to not take stuff for granted, I remember when she was already showing signs of old age , around a year ago, I dedicated a whole day, to consciously be with her, sit with her the whole day, pet her, not checking my phone nor anything, just with her in the moment. Now its a memory I will never forget, I recommend doing the same with your dogs while you still have them.

RIP, I miss her every day.

But I guess this is the cycle of life.

Ruby the Rescue

I rescued Ruby (11 month old mix) about six weeks ago..no training in the house or outside. She turned into a pancake the first time I put a leash on her. Now she does all her business outside and knows her heel, sit, down, stay (sorta) and hup hup (jump in the SUV). She's very smart and is all love, brightness, nose boops and big poops.

I think my Ulu is pregnant. Taking her to the vet Monday.

She has been looking for food more often than before and her belly is bigger as well. Any advice will be appreciated.

Tulip likes to dig

We had a rain shower today. Also today, we learned that tulip likes to dig holes in the yard. Straight down, like she's going to China or something. 🐶
