Motorcycle Rental Request in George Town

Hey guys, I’m currently in George Town and looking to rent a motorcycle for 1 day, or potentially a few days if possible.
I know the usual rate at motorcycle rental shops is around RM40/day, usually including 2 helmets, but I’m willing to pay RM70/day if someone is willing to rent me one.
Just to be transparent, I don’t currently have my physical motorcycle licence with me. I had a valid licence before and have been riding for years, but I went away to Australia for a few years and during that time my licence wasn’t renewed. I also lost my wallet, so I no longer have the physical licence with me.
I’m an experienced rider and have been riding motorcycles for a long time. Planning to use it to get around Penang Island and I’ll take good care of the bike.
I can provide my IC and a deposit/security if needed. Happy to discuss the terms and duration.
Anyone know of a rental shop or private owner who might be willing to rent under these circumstances? Any recommendations would be appreciated. Thanks!

First time in Penang was so much fun, planning round 2, need tips for non-drivers + confused on a one-way trip idea (Cameron or Ipoh?)

Hi everyone! Just got back from my first trip to Penang with my gf, and it was amazing. Stayed in Georgetown for a week, visited Tanjung Tuan beach, Batu Ferringhi beach, and Tanjung Tokong beach (the one next to the 200 year old temple).

Food wise, we went hard on nasi kandar. Hit up Nasi Kandar Raffee, Nasi Kandar Sulaiman, and Deen Corner. Wanted to try Nasi Kandar Kampung Melayu too but didn’t get the chance. Penangites, drop your most gatekept nasi kandar spot please, I promise I won’t blow it up, you can even DM me lol 😂

Also went to Penang Botanical Garden but it was a bit underwhelming since parts were closed for renovation. Considered Entopia Butterfly Park but it looked pricey, and heard the funicular ride is pretty short too, so we skipped it

One thing I really love about Penang is how you can be in the middle of the city and then 10 minutes later you’re at a quiet beach with just the sound of the waves. But the moment you want food or need a convenience store, it’s right around the corner too. That mix of city convenience and beach quiet is honestly what sold me on the place.

Planning to go back but want to explore different places this time. Was thinking of pairing it with a one-way trip, maybe Cameron Highlands or Ipoh, but honestly a bit confused on which makes sense. Cameron has a direct bus but limited daily departures, while Ipoh has way more frequent and cheaper buses, but I feel like Ipoh doesn’t have as much to actually do compared to Cameron.

Am I wrong about that? Or is there somewhere else better suited for this kind of one-way route that I’m not thinking of?

We also don’t have a car or license, so we’re relying on walking and Grab in Penang. What are the best affordable, accessible places without a car? And what do actual locals do or visit in Penang, not just the touristy spots? Any hidden gems around Georgetown or Penang island worth visiting?

We’re a couple, so also open to chill or romantic spot recommendations. Anything helps, thanks in advance! 🙏
