Hi everyone, I'm hoping someone may have experience with this situation.

My mom has been visiting me in the U.S. for the past 5 months on a tourist visa and is scheduled to return to her home country next week.

While she was here, she was brutally attacked by a dog. Since then, she's been evaluated by medical professionals and has been advised that she needs both physical therapy and psychological therapy because of the injuries and trauma she experienced.

I asked if her treatment could continue virtually or in her home country. We were told that the psychological therapy could potentially be done virtually, but the physical therapy must be done in person. Our attorney also advised us that, because of the ongoing legal case, it's important that her medical treatment be completed here in the U.S.

My question is: Has anyone been in a similar situation? Is my mom able to return to her home country and then come back to the U.S. on her tourist visa to continue her treatment, or could that create issues with re-entering?

We're planning to speak with an immigration attorney as well, but I wanted to see if anyone has had personal experience with something similar. Thank you in advance.
