Realities of Boosting a 370z

Currently looking at boosting my 370z. I did some very light research and was lead to believe that 500-550whp was a reliable level.

After doing some deeper research, I’ve been told that no reputable tuner (in the UK at least) will tune these cars past around 430whp without upgraded internals.

My other issue is, what a lot of these YouTubers don’t tell you, is apparently to run anything over 520hp (crank) you also need to run E85, which I’ve never done, but in the UK that’s apparently extremely expensive and a massive pain/inconvenience.

I’m just wondering about other people’s experiences (US or UK). How much power can you actually run without e85 on standard 99 octane (93 for the Americans), and how much is actually safe to run on these cars? And what kits did you go for?

And specifically for the UK guys, if you are stock block, how much are you running and where did you get it tuned?

6 Puck vs Full Face

I’m just wondering peoples recommendations for clutch faces. Sometime next year I am planning on taking my Z to around 600whp, however, I need to figure out what clutch to put in now, as my CSC exploded.

I can go full face, with the V2 road race kit, which is £1400 and includes the CSC elim kit.

I can go 6 puck, with the road race pressure plate, and get the elim kit taking the total to £1600, or get a HD CSC taking the total to £1200.

I am worried I get the 6 puck and the bite is too aggressive and it zaps the fun out of the car for any longer hour wry, but likewise, I am also worried I miss out on a noticeable performance gain with the full face (250mm).

Weight Distribution (53/47)

So allegedly Nissan did lots of research and track time and realised that the best weight distribution for the 370 was to make it nose heavy. I’m not sure if it’s just marketing mumbo jumbo or if it’s a real thing.

Now in reality, it wouldn’t be super hard to get the car closer to, if not completely at 50/50 by moving a couple of things and giving the car some negative rake (comes with its own disadvantages)

The question is, is it really better for the car to be nose heavy? I went on a track day last summer and the fronts overheated almost instantly giving me pretty horrific understeer, which much be at least in part attributed to the distribution (and some due to bad driving I’m sure). And although the car rotated nicely, it was no where near as aggressive as I would like it to be (which I can fix by changing other things)

And if it’s better to try and achieve a 50/50 distribution, what’s the best way to go about it?

P.S I don’t want some nerd telling me I think I know better than Nissan, it’s well known these car brands will make performance sacrifices for costs, and sometimes to make the car easier to drive and I want to know if this is one of these things.

About to order up some Motul RBF 600, my CSC failed so replacing everything, how much will I likely need for a refill and to bleed an almost completely dry system? I think 2 bottles (1L) will be enough but not sure

Thanks
