Love Is Blind — Reddit version?
Just a random idea that's been sitting somewhere in the back of my mind…
Ever since Love Is Blind came out about five years ago, I've wondered whether the basic idea could actually work here — especially for those of us 40+.
Not the reality-show drama — just the idea of getting to know someone before seeing them.
And I jokingly thought… what if we did a little “Love Is Blind — Reddit version”?
For people who are single, divorced, widowed, etc., and genuinely open to a serious relationship/Friendships.
Something online where you just talk to people first — without photos, job titles, LinkedIn/social media stalking, or immediately exchanging phone numbers.
No swiping. No judging someone in 10 seconds based on a photo.
Just conversations, getting to know each other, and seeing who you naturally connect with.
Maybe you eventually narrow it down to a few people you genuinely enjoy talking to, and only later — when both people are comfortable — decide whether you want to reveal yourselves and meet.
I honestly don't know if this would work.I don't even know if people our age would be interested.
And no, I'm not launching anything — this is genuinely just an idea that crossed my mind. I may never take it any further.
But I'm curious…
Does the idea of a “Love Is Blind — Reddit version” sound interesting to anyone, or am I overthinking this?
P.S : To my 20-something friends: this is specifically for the 40+ crowd. Please don't interpret this as a personal invitation to my inbox.
