Woman in my late 40s and I want to learn to swim
I love the water but I never had the opportunity to learn to swim. Now I am realizing how much fun I could be having and how much I am missing out. I went on vacations and everyone went snorkeling and I had to sit back because I was too scared to put my head under water.
We are going on another trip and a portion of it is to snorkel and dive and I don’t want to keep missing out. I may have waited too long but I want to take swim lessons before my trip. I have literally two weeks starting on Monday. I want to know before I get my hopes too high, realistically how much can i learn in a two week period so I can also snorkel with family? How long does it take to learn to float and how long it takes to tread water (whatever that means)? And how long does it take to learn to put head underwater water? Do swim instructors usually have a plan on what to teach first or is everything taught simultaneously?
Is it realistic to think that in two weeks I will be able to go on a trip and be able to snorkel and float? I am not saying I want to be able to swim already but the bare minimum I want is float and put head under water? Is that an achievable goal?
Any first time snorkeling tips for a late 40s woman would be helpful too. Thanks in advance
