Any other 30+ year old fans still hanging around? What’s your favorite era of the block and do you still watch?

I often feel old when I post on this sub! So many teenagers!

2004 - 2007 is my personal peak time for AS and it’s crazy to think so many here weren’t even alive when that was going on.

Just watched the drinky crow show for the first time and…

Loved it. The characters are really good. Uncle Gabby is one mischievous fucker (literally) and crow is also amazing love when he flips out and his teeth go sharp. So sad that this didn’t get an official dvd release and I don’t really trust the bootlegs so I think I’ll do it myself. I love the theme song so much makes sense cuz it was made by They Might be Giants who made amazing songs such as Bird House in Your Soul, Stuff is way, and 200 Sbemails. I heard the show has mixed reviews but me personally I loved it. It’s just a really horny really gory version of looney tunes. If we don’t see uncle gabby & Drinky Crow collab with mouse & skillet in the robot chicken sketch I will be disappointed but hey I could probably draw them getting drunk together so it’s all good. Solid 8.9/10

I kept this hot dog from the Awesome Tour, 2008 until my freezer died in 2019

It kinda made me sad to throw it away

A fun clip that reminded me of [as] bumpers back in the day

@ u_m_a_m_i on instagram

I'm not sure if it's okay to post this here, but when I found this clip, I couldn't help but get a nostalgic Adult Swim feeling from it.

Summer 2006 might have been the peak schedule

From late May to September, Adult Swim aired 43 unique programs! And this was back when they only started at 10PM (11 on Saturdays) & didn’t even air seven nights a week!

The diversity of programming here is crazy:

* Barely any FOX reruns.

* Balanced mix of OG pool era shows and the next generation of [as] originals (ft. the debuts of Metalocalypse and Frisky Dingo!)

*More crazy 80s live-action shenanigans with Pee Wee’s Playhouse (right after the whole Saved By the Bell troll/prank in April). Also that weird 5AM block where they started running random 80s cartoons (and a few 60s-70s anime shows at one point)

*Anime! That weeknight late night block (Neon Genesis Evangelion AND Paranoia Agent!) And hard to believe there was a time Saturdays were literally all anime.

Summer ‘06 Premieres:

12 Oz Mouse (S1)

Bleach (AS premiere!)

Eureka Seven

Family Guy (S4)

Frisky Dingo (world premiere!)

Ghost in the Shell 2nd GIG

Korgoth pilot (world premiere)

Inuyasha

Metalocalypse (world premiere)

Moral Orel (S1)

Minoriteam (S1)

Pee Wee’s Playhouse (AS premiere)

Robot Chicken (S2)

Shin Chan

Squidbillies (S1)

Tom Goes to the Mayor (S2)

Trinity Blood (AS premiere)

The Venture Bros. (S2)

Summer ‘06 Reruns/Syndicated:

Aqua Teen Hunger Force

Cartoon Planet

Cowboy Bebop

Futurama

Gary Coleman Show

Gigantor

Harvey Birdman

Home Movies

Karate Kommandos

Mission Hill

Mr. T

Neon Genesis Evangelion

Paranoia Agent

Perfect Hair Forever

S-cry-ed

Samurai Champloo

Sealab 2021

Space Ghost Coast 2 Coast

Stroker and Hoop

Super Milk Chan

Super Globetrotters

The Big O

The Boondocks

The Oblongs

Trigun

This was the same summer a lot of cool new bumps debuted, like those tilt-shift styled Atlanta ones soundtracked by the then-newly deceased J Dilla.

And that’s only scratching the surface of this era: the message board, online flash games, Danger Doom’s “Mouse and the Mask” (and other Williams Street Records releases), the Friday Night Video Fix, the April Fools Pranks…

Hard to believe this was all twenty years ago!

This week the Aqua teens are off to highland, Texas as they meet up with beavis and butthead to watch some MTV and do some commentary. I think beavis and meatwad are becoming good friends. Heh he he you said wad heh he he.

Since Netflix Cancelled Strip Law...

Maybe there's a teeny glimmer of hope that Adult Swim can pick up Strip Law?

Felt more like an Adult Swim series than a Netflix series anyway.

If Space Ghost Coast to Coast had a reboot/revival, which actor/musician will be the first to be interviewed?

12 Oz. Mouse season three…

Let me tell you how much I’ve come to HATE 12 Oz mouse season three. In my opinion Oz.Mo seasons 1 & 2 make the best show/movie adult swim has ever made. It has an amazing story with amazing characters with an amazing soundtrack a lot of amazing dialogue and it had what I’d say was a perfect ending. Then of course 12 years after it ended adult swim just had to ruin everything with a brand new season. I FUCKING HATE 12 OZ MOUSE SEASON THREE WITH EVERY OUNCE OF BLOOD & WATER IN MY BODY. The jokes fucking suck and don’t land. For example the tiny dancing guy or professor wilx dancing? Walking? Dance-walking? I don’t know and I don’t care, I just don’t care. These two are the best example of the shitty jokes that just don’t land at all. Like THIS is supposed to be funny??????? THIS????????? Like the original wasn’t exactly trying to be funny. It had good dialogue and when it was trying to be funny it was. Because it wasn’t a comedy it was a thriller. Season 3 misses that mark by a long shot. The tone from the first 2 seasons is so off. Also kind of a nitpick but sharks new VA is not very good. Now I know the dude was trying his best and Adam reed was unavailable but it doesn’t really sound like shark. His voice too gravely and too high pitched. I also fucking hate the twist that clock, shadowy figure, and the industry man are the same character. It makes no fucking sense because in the original series click and shadowy figure where 2 different types of villains. Clock was on the side of RBM and shark. And SF was more of a neutral villain not being tied with shark, getting liquified by RBM, being chill with peanut cop, and seemingly being chill with liquor but only wanting to kill mouse. Speaking of liquor why the fuck did they get rid of him???? He was an amazing character and unlike Rhoda who would make sense to be not real because she was a side character who died in the first season it doesn’t make any sense for liquor to be not real. I guess him knowing everything was their reason or maybe Matt harrigan wasn’t able to return but if they recasted shark why couldn’t they recast him. And the new characters are so fucking forgetable. Like I only know like industry man, the kid (only because he’s played by Matt’s son), aria, and wilx. Also this new animation isn’t good. The best example is when Roostre jumps out the window. Like compare that scene to the shoot-out from rememorized from season 1. It’s night and day in the quality. Now that I’ve complained I’d like this to be more positive so I’ll talk about the few things I liked: 1. The Shark/RBM hybrid design is sick af. 2: the new theme song despite not being as good as the original is still amazing. 3: I liked the industry man he’s cool. 4: it has Seth green. But other than those very few things. I can’t say anything good about Oz.Mo season three. But you know what pisses me off the most? That if they for some reason needed to continue 12 Oz Mouse they had perfectly usable scripts that continue from enter the sand mouse which itself starts right where Oz.Mo season 2 ended. And enter the sand mouse aired on TV a year before invictus came out. And according to Matt he had written I think 5 more episodes that came after enter the sand mouse so they just should have continued there. In conclusion 12 Oz. Mouse season three is a sack of shit with a few sprinkles on top and is the only reason why I have to say “12 Oz. Mouse seasons 1 and 2, and No the episode invictus isn’t a season 2 episode” when I recommend 12 Oz. Mouse to people. Fuck 12 Oz mouse seasons three.
