For the past 3 or so months I have had a smooth round bump under the skin of my left labia near where the labia meets the perineum. I was thinking bartholin cyst, however I've noticed that while the bump never goes away completely, it does shrink significantly and is almost unnoticeable, but then becomes large, inflamed and painful during my period every month. I didn't know if that was typical of bartholin gland cysts, as I haven't seen that information online. I've tried hot baths and warm compresses to the area to try to decrease the inflammation and it does not work. The bump also doesn't feel like it's able to be popped. Sometimes it's too painful to wipe & I have to instead use a period bottle or the shower to clean up after peeing, then it's asymptomatic and small again in about a week. Should I see my doctor for this since most of the time it's barely even there?
