Best way to prepare for unmedicated? Hypnobirthing tips / videos

I’m due in 5 weeks and starting to feel frightened as all im seeing or hearing are worst case scenarios.

I’ve looked into Hypnobirthing, listened to an audiobook and done reading, but would like genuine feedback / advice from mums who have actually done it, what helped you? What techniques?

What did you do before hand to prepare, what videos did you watch / podcasts did you listen to?

I don’t know anyone who has had a natural birth, and have only heard horror stories about forceps, inductions, tears. It’s like people want to scare me and I feel so angry at the system.

I ideally wanted a home birth but I live in a flat in London and I wouldn’t relax knowing my neighbours can hear 🤣

32wks FTM, seeking positive enforcement and experiences :)

Hi all, hope this post is allowed!

I’m pregnant with my first, don’t really have a good female support network and although I am a positive person I’m also quite afraid of birth as it approaches for various reasons.

Lost my dad to cancer ( unrelated I know) a few years ago and the process was so awful I now live in a default worst case scenario with anything medical or NHS related. ( UK BASED)

I’m quite spiritual and very deep and find that everyone I speak to has an opinion on why I’m crazy for wanting a natural birth and give me their horror stories

Over the weekend I’ve heard two horrific stories that have made me feel really sad and angry and anxious because I wasn’t asking for their opinions.

I realised there is a whole world out there like me who feel the same about birth and I just wanted to hear your stories as we must all be similar in some way.

Please could you share any tips, tricks, real life situations, what I should prepare for ?!

Not medical advice just a FTM with no one to talk to and very interested to hear your stories :)

Thanks so much 🙏

I’m looking into a peanut ball and potentially a birth sling as I’m going to TRY for as long as I can to do natural 🥲🥴

Can anyone recommend a good peanut ball / birth sling? Or any other equipment ?

Thanks so much

28 weeks, weak, dizzy, breathless, exhausted. Anyone else?

Hi guys, not looking for medical advice, have doctors investigating thoroughly in the background.

Is anyone else having this? I am starting to find it frustrating when I hear people say ‘ this is just pregnancy’ because I have multiple friends who have been / are pregnant and not one has experienced this level of dizziness and exhaustion and feeling faint, like I’m going to fall over.

My ferretin came back as 10UGL, but apparently that’s not enough for an infusion. I’ve been put forward for an echo of my heart as the dr detected a murmur ( apparently very normal) but I honestly can’t handle this. I can’t do ANYTHING. Can’t go out, see friends, go to work. Too exhausted

Was just showering and felt like I was falling through the ground and had to stop and lie down, then felt sick?!

Anyone else?

6 months pregnant, am I being unreasonable?

please bear with me this is long but giving you context, please be as honest as you like I am not afraid to hear I’m being a bit*h if I am!

I’m 6 months pregnant and live in London. My dad died of brain cancer in 2022, I’m an only child and after the loss of my father really wanted t make sure I spent as much time with my mum as I’d lived in Sydney for 8 years prior to moving home to care for my dad in 2020.

In January she left our hometown in Cheshire and 12hr drive away to northern Scotland, and bought a house in rural France as well to spend her summers.

It really traumatised me for a multitude of reasons, knowing my mum was now a plane journey away and 2hr drive from the airport at either of new new homes, but I’ve always felt my mum is not aware of how I feel, she is the most cutest woman but I feel more like her mother than her daughter.

I have tried my absolute hardest to look after my mum because my dad did everything and being alone was new to her and she had to navigate everything on her own and she’s made quite a few bad decisions so I really worry about her.

I came to visit her in France as I am due in September and not sure when I will be able to see her after this as I can’t fly to visit her in Scotland when she’s home as I’ll be too pregnant.

Her new partner I really struggle with but I feel awful about it I wish wish wish I loved him and was excited for mum mum, but instead he stresses me out and I relay this to my mum. He has no money, my mum who is already struggling pays for everything.
He’s not bad but I make him out to be the devil.

So many things to mention but I’ll save time, but basically it’s not their fault and I feel guilty even moaning but I am just always so inconvenienced when they are involved.

In January I didn’t know I was pregnant but helped my mum move to Scotland from Cheshire and everything he and she had organised for the move was wrong. Not enough skips, one small rental van for 33 years of stuff, I nearly had a psychotic breakdown fixing all the issues.

He also didn’t come to help her move as he started a new job so I did it all, which I wanted to, but he left his car there so we had to use that one and it had no tread on the tires, no aircon, the windscreen wipes didn’t work and it keeps saying breaks not working, for a 12 hour drive, in snow.

Anyway, I came to visit her in France and it’s 44 degrees and there are no fans at her place because she’s only just moved in.

I feel awful but they drove here in his car and when they collected me from the airport they said oh sorru the aircon is broken, so we had a 1.5hr drive with no aircon in 40 degrees in the sun. It was horrific and I was so grumpy and overstimulated and angry.

I feel SO guilty as my mum is doing her absolute best and is so excited to show me her house now it’s finished, but because I’m pregnant I feel like my tolerance is extremely low and I am just moaning and bitching and I feel horrible about it. I should be being nice!

My boyfriend rented me a room in a BnB and I snuck out when she went to bed because I didn’t want her to know I wasn’t staying there for two nights as it is an open plan house and I didn’t feel private, and god bless her I love her but she’s not as bothered about bedding as I am, and I only had one pillow with a case and the other was an old lumpy pillow.

It’s

I feel SOOOOO horrific moaning about this online when she has worked her arse off to make the house habitable, she got the spare room ready for me before she did her room because she wanted me to visit, and I can’t even be nice enough to prented it’s fine.

I’m just upset because she doesn’t seem to realise how any of this will affect me and if I mention anything she just makes our everyone is struggling. She cares but is unaware of how it may impact me and it’s exhausting.

Tomorrow I fly back at 4:40 but we are leaving here at 11:30 because the car doesn’t have aircon and it’s too hot to drive on one go so we need to stop en route and I’m just furious that her partner has not fixed his AIRCON. IM PREGNANT!!

There are also no taxis in this town and to order one would be €237. No buses or trains either.

Am I a being unreasonable? Please slap some sense into me. I’m blaming it on pregnancy but maybe I’m just a high maintenance bitch. 😭😭😭

Edit *** my mum does not look after herself and has no one else who is rational or aware of these things so I feel I am the only person out there who can help, which is why I take her problems to heart.
