3 things that truly shock me about the intelligence of europeans, australians and canadians online

  1. the projection. they claim americans constantly make things about their country 24/7, yet without fail all the people i see randomly bringing up the usa on unrelated threads are not american. i once saw british people, on a british shitpost subreddit, where there were absolutely no americans to my knowledge, talking on the 4th of july about how "absolutely obsessed" americans are with britain since they came to be.
  2. they claim we don't know anything about geography or history, yet they know nothing of american geography or history.
  3. constantly assuming that everyone is american, and every bad thing is caused by the united states. and they throw absolute fucking toddler tantrums when you try to correct them about it. even if you're absolutely factually correct, they will curse you, because they DESPERATELY want it to be an american. they have a deep hatred of the americans, as people, not for political reasons, for being born where they were, and they NEED to see things that justify that hatred. they will go as far to completely fabricate things to justify it.
  4. the hypocrisy. they claim americans are deeply immoral, while celebrating every bad thing that happens to us, even fatal. they say americans are imperial apologists, while downplaying, or even outright denying, every single bad thing that their country has ever done. they get all their opinions about americans from the news, people online saying dumb things who they assume are american, and they claim we are brainwashed by our media.

the fact that the united states currently has lower approval ratings than china in the majority of europe, canada and australia, proves that all this dumbfuckery is not just bots. there are real, actual human beings who walk among us that think like this. have these thought processes. have americans and how much they hate them on their mind 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. and these people vote. thankfully not in our elections, but in the elections of some of our must crucial NATO allies.

another unbelievable thing i saw, was this one video of people celebrating in a soccer win in germany, and someone ran by a police dog waving a flag and got bit. the other people rushed toward him to try to get the dog off of him, and the german police started pepper spraying everyone. everyone in the comments were talking about how terrible american police are, how violent they are, and how this would never happen in germany. eventually, enough people tell them that actually this IS germany, and suddenly people's attitude about the video changes. now the guy who got bit is an idiot who shouldn't have provoked that dog, and the police were just doing their job. on that video was a comment, by someone who's not american, talking about how fascist and evil trump was for some reason, and some european guy replied to him saying "it's so annoying how you americans have to make everything about yourselves. this should be a european discussion."

it's absolutely insane what other countries' tourists have been doing here and getting away with on social media. yet WE'RE the awful tourists.

australians trashing walmart, english picking fights and sexually harassing our women, canadians booing our anthem. what a complete shitshow. can you imagine if we went to another country en masse and did these things? our reputation would never recover. but we're all supposed to just forget about this because it's "charming" and "fun"? i get the world cup brings in money but if these "people" are gonna act like this here then idk if it's worth it to host it again.

Canada rejected over 50% of all World Cup tourist visas. Tourists from Africa, as well as India and Pakistan, had their visas rejected at a far higher rate than European and most South American tourists.
