ChatGPT Plus free trial – UPI authentication fails before QR code is generated (India)
I’m trying to activate the ChatGPT Plus 1-month free trial in India using UPI.
The checkout shows ₹0 due today and provides UPI as a payment option. However, after I enter my billing details, select UPI, and click Subscribe, I immediately get:
“We are unable to authenticate your payment method. Please choose a different payment method and try again.”
The UPI QR code is never generated.
I’ve already tried Chrome, Edge, Opera, another mobile device, Wi-Fi, and mobile data. The exact same error occurs everywhere.
I don’t have a debit/credit card, so UPI is my only available payment method.
Has anyone in India faced this exact issue? If yes, how did you get UPI checkout working?
