Paternity Disputes Over Shared Slave Women Resolved by Drawing Lots

Paternity Disputes Over Shared Slave Women Resolved by Drawing Lots

Came across this interesting ruling:

When three men jointly own a slave woman and each of them engages in intercourse with her within the same menstrual purity (ṭuhr), and subsequently a child is born, and all three claim paternity, then lots should be drawn among them. The one in whose name the lot is drawn will be recognized as the father of the child. He is then required to pay two-thirds of the blood money (diyah) to the other two men.

✔ Incident Reported from Hazrat Ali (رضي الله عنه)

Hazrat Zayd ibn Arqam (رضي الله عنه) narrates:

While Hazrat Ali (رضي الله عنه) was in Yemen, three men were brought before him who had all engaged in intercourse with the same slave woman during one ṭuhr.

Hazrat Ali (رضي الله عنه) asked two of them:

“Do you concede the child to this third man?”

They replied: “No.”

He posed the same question to each pair among them, but none would concede paternity to the third.

So, Hazrat Ali (رضي الله عنه) drew lots among them, and the child was attributed to the one in whose name the lot came out.

He also imposed upon him two-thirds of the blood money, to be given to the remaining two.

The narrator states:

This matter was later mentioned to the Messenger of Allah (صلى الله عليه وسلم), and he laughed so much that his molar teeth became visible.”

Why was someone else was killed on cross instead of Christ?

Most muslims believe Christ (Hazarat Issa) did not die on the cross.

Qadianis/Ahmedi believe he died on cross. Mirza ghulam is mstill somehow the promised Maseeha.

Some portion of Christians also believe he did not die on cross.

Lets assume that position that Christ did not die on Cross, it was someone else. Some Questions arise:

  • Islam :-
    • why another person had to die who had nothing to do with the blasphemy commited Christ? Christ was more beloved to god than the other person? But god says he loves all ?
    • what was the fault of that replacement person that he got to bear so much pain? is this justice?
    • did God create a brand new adult human on the go (the time they tried to put Christ on Cross), who looked like Christ and God made this replacement without anyone knowing? In this case it means God can create new adult humans, bypassing sex, fertilization, pregnancy, childhood mechanism?
    • Was that person less value than Christ so he needed to act stuntman for Christ?
  • Christianity :-
    • Why Christians pay tribute of cross to Jesus, when actually the whole pain of crucification was beard by another person?
    • Why not try to find name and address of that replacement person to pay tribute to him instead of Jesus, if we want to keep that tale alive.
    • Same above other questions also hold here

Or is that more this version of story?

Do Quran has contradictions?

Verses from Quran:

Do they not reflect upon the Quran? If it had been from other than Allah, they would have found therein many differences. (An-Nisa: 82)

differences:

The people of Thamud were destroyed by the torment of the terrible sound (Hud, verse 67)

The people of Thamud were destroyed by the torment of the earthquake (Al-A'raf, verse 78)

The people of Thamud were destroyed by the torment of lightning (Al-Zariyat, verse 44)

🫳 all three cant happen at the same time. earthquake has no sound or thunder.

Creation of Universe and earth:-

The creation of the earth was mentioned first (Al-Baqarah, verse 29)

The creation of the heavens was mentioned first (Al-Nazi'at, verses 27-30)

The earth and the heavens were created in six days (Al-A'raf, verse 54)

The earth and the heavens were created in eight days (Fussilat, verses 9-12)

which one to believe?

Punishment of adultery:

Lock the adulterous woman in the house until she dies (An-Nisa, verse 15)

Flog the adulterous woman a hundred lashes (An-Nur, verse 2)

which one to believe? lashes or stoning?

On the Day of Judgment, the wicked will be given their records behind their backs (Al-Inshiqaq, verse 10)

The record will be given in their left hand (Al-Haqqa, verse 25)

🫳 God is unsere where to put their records

Jesus died (Al-Imran 55)

The death of Jesus was made suspicious (An-Nisa 157)

Man has two lives and three deaths (Al-Baqarah 28)

Two deaths and two lives (Ghafir 11)

🫳 where did that happen? and which of these two versions?

Disaster comes from Allah (Taghabun 11)

Disaster comes because of man himself (Shura 30)

🫳 Disaster source unclear?

On the Day of Judgment, Allah will not speak to some people (Al-Imran 77)

Everyone will be questioned (Al-Hijr 92)

🫳 god will speak or not?

The Quran is a guidance for the righteous (Al-Baqarah 2)

The Quran is a guidance for all (Al-An’am 91)

🫳 unsure for whom is Quran?

We have made the devils friends of those who do not believe (Al-A’raf 27)

People themselves have made the devils friends (Al-A’raf 30)

🫳 unsure who made devils friends?

The heavens and the earth were separate (Fussilat, verse 11)

The heavens and the earth were joined together (Al-Anbiya, verse 30)

🫳 separate or joined? getting confused?

Your benefit and loss are all from Allah (An-Nisa, verse 78)

Whatever good befalls you is from Allah, and whatever evil befalls you is from your own self (An-Nisa, verse 79)

🫳 unsure whats coming from god and whats from devil?

These are verses of a clear Book (Qasas, verse 2)

Some verses are firm and some are similar (Aal-Imran, verse 7)

🫳 clear or confusing?

Whoever seeks a religion other than Islam, never will it be accepted of him (Aal-Imran, verse 85)

Whoever believes in Allah and the Last Day and does righteous deeds, whether they are Muslims, Jews, Christians or Sabians, there will be no fear on them, nor will they grieve (Al-Baqarah, verse 62)

🫳 so who will be accpted?

There is nothing like Allah (Shura, verse 11)

Allah is the light of the heavens and the earth. The example of the A lamp placed in a niche (An-Nur: 35)

🫳 if Allah is light, there is alot of natural and artificial light out there? nothing like h)

A believing Muslim is heavier than 10 non-Muslims (Anfal: 65)

A believing Muslim is heavier than 2 non-Muslims (Anfal: 66)

🫳 someone with good weight measuring skill is needed here.

Impure women are for impure men, and impure men are for impure women (An-Nur: 26)

The wives of Noah and Lot betrayed (At-Tahrim: 10)

The wife of Pharaoh was righteous (At-Tahrim: 11)

🫳 so the first verse is not true?

There is no compulsion in religion (Al-Baqarah: 256)

Fight those who do not believe in Allah and the Last Day (At-Tawbah: 29)

🫳 compulsion or not?

If Our Lord had willed, He could have made them all one nation (Hud: 118)

All mankind were one nation (Al-Baqarah: 213)

🫳 one nation or not?

Fasts can be broken even if one is able to do so by paying ransom (Al-Baqarah: 184)

Fasts cannot be broken even if one is able to do so, they must be made up later (Al-Baqarah: 185)

🫳 which rule is final?

I am sending a thousand angels to help you at Badr (Anfal: 9)

Is it not enough for you that your Lord will help you? Three thousand angels sent down from the heavens (Aal Imran: 124)

🫳 1000 or 3000 angels??

Allah misleads (Jathiyah: 23)

Satan misleads (Al-Qasas: 15)

🫳 Allah misleads? why we need shatan then?

Be kind to polytheist parents (Luqman: 15)

Do not befriend polytheist fathers and brothers (At-Tawbah: 23)

🫳 kind but not friends?

do you eat pork?

most exi's i have encountered say they tried it once but didn't like it.

one said, " I ate it once and afterwards i felt so weird that i never tried again".

i believe many still don’t eat due to the very deep ingrained disgust of it by the religion, for even those who no longer believes in that religion.

Pig is characterized as dirty, even taking its name make tongue 👅 unholy for 40 days.

Javed Akhtar (Indian writer) said somewhere many Muslims drink alcohol but avoid pork because there is alternative to pork ( beef, mutton, lamb, chicken) but none to alcohol. Also pork gives hardly pleasure in eating in comparison to other meats.

so is there any who eats pork regularly?

or even better, anyone who loves pork?

on a lighter note:

Would interesting to know if anyone ate pork biryani. i think shan masala hasn't yet churned out "shan pork biryani masala".
