Sounds like automod and bots
But hey what do I know, maybe it's the future of moderation done right \(^^)/

But hey what do I know, maybe it's the future of moderation done right \(^^)/
We have alot of posts here talking about bans that have taken place but what a post where we can talk about bans that have not happened yet?
For example if someone breaks the same site rule repeatedly despite being asked to address it. Should they be banned AxB number of days where A is a static number we vote on and B is the number of times they broke the rule?
What if they break multiple rules or don't care for the rules?
I invite you to engage in a brainstorm discussion of approaches to bans that are healthy, warranted and civil.
Check out r/BannedFromReddit, home of things pertaining to reddit bans.
Edit: I actually just started a thread over there to discuss and brainstorm what fair bans should look like and be warranted by. See some of you there!
Side effects include being told you did something wrong and being educated on the rules. Do not exceed 8 visits a day and if you are experiencing headaches after 24 hours consult your physician.
I think it's important to reflect on these kinds of things when deciding how much a ban or moderation really effects us and our mood. Put your mental health first ❣️
I'm happy to see this sub really taking off lately. When I first made it, I too have been wronged by a mod that was breaking their own rules and wanted to make a safe space here for people to vent, talk about, ask about these kinds of situations for their own mental well being. I also found it to be an excellent place for deciding what to do next and reflecting on how important things really are to us.
I am a very light weight user of the platform so some recent posts with heavy comment sections that needed moderating kinda have me feeling sick of reddit. I am interested in taking a break from moderating and am looking for a few folks out there who: like the sub, know the rules and will help make sure nothing problematic takes place during my declining activity.
Shoot me a DM if you feel like you are a good fit.
Safety Filters have been adjusted to ensure this remains a safe space
Does bad modship or cumminity practices curb your reddit usage?
Hourly? Daily? How much do you reddit?
Quick Rule Reminder
No using this community for organized targeting of others. This is how previous subs like this have failed.
Site Wide Rules
Respect Privacy: Do not post personal information (doxxing), including real names, addresses, or private photos/videos.
No Harassment: Do not threaten, bully, or incite violence against users.
No Spam/Manipulation: Avoid asking for upvotes, creating bot accounts, or excessive self-promotion.
Keep it Legal: No illegal content or transactions.
There is only one real rule I impose and that is a rule necessary to keep this sub from deletion. By collaborating with others to target mods from other subs we would be in breach of one of reddit's newer rule adaptations even if most of us aren't involved in it.
That aside there are also the websites own rules that we have to follow. I'm sad I had to ban someone from here for the first time for breaking those very rules so I will link them here in case anyone is not in the know.
Edit: followed it up with Mod Code of Conduct so you know what rules they have to play by. I also added other useful links and subs below.
