I broke none of their rules I tripple checked..
The mods must be getting a kick back for their advertising.
All while leaving the original comment up that is actually calling someone a slur.
I didn’t even know they could do this. For a sub about outfits there’s almost 20 community rules, and idk if it’s “jealous” or “bum” or the combination thereof, but I thought it was funny and it must have just flagged a setting because I was not even able to post the comment. It just kept saying “Oops! Something went wrong” so I refreshed the post in case it was my internet and no, it is not allowing me, no reporting necessary or actual moderating done on their end.
Personally I think that’s kind of lazy and runs you into all of the classic issues that come with automated censorship, but the bigger issue is that I don’t really want to be in a community run by people who think “jealous bum” is scandalous enough to be preflagged 🫶🏻 It’s the internet, let’s grow up
I’m not against having mods. I think mods who think carefully about what they’re doing can be a good thing.
I’m also not against having some rules. No bigotry, no doxxing, no threats, that kind of thing.
But I am opposed to stupid rules.
And I suspect that certain mods target people by making up *new* stupid rules, so they can ban those people.
1st of all I was NOT spamming, I literally was just posting about my story. 2nd of all they NEVER warned me about anything, they did NOT send me any warning messages. So when they say we warned you, they are lying out of their ass. They did however send me a DISGUSTING message saying that I am spreading hate speech and that I'm a troll.
I literally did NO such thing.
Anyway, I could care less. The Mod is a power abusing scumbag. Fuck him.
What is a moderator?
Do the moderators on Reddit even know?
Here's what a moderator should be doing...
Discussions & Debates:
Someone who leads a panel, debate, or meeting to ensure fairness, keep time, and maintain order (e.g., a debate moderator).
Online Communities:
A person tasked with monitoring internet forums, chat rooms, or social media groups to ensure members follow the rules, filter spam, and remove offensive content.
Mediation:
An IMPARTIAL ARBITRATOR who helps opposing parties resolve disputes and reach an agreement
Reddit moderators are bullies, they are opinionated and fascist little marxists.
As an example, the moderators in r/froditors routinely alter, edit, and editorialize on the user flair of people they disagree with or don't like on the forum.
They have made user flair non-adjustable by the user and the moderators use it to bully, antagonize demoralize and dehumanize users they don't agree with...
By writing all sorts of snarky little comments.
If the user dares turn off their user flair ,because they can't edit it... They are muted and eventually banned, if they continue to turn off the derogatory user flair, that the moderators are putting on them...
Sure it's a violation of the moderators code of conduct, but who moderates the moderators but other moderators...
It's worthless having a moderator on a Reddit forum.
I was banned from r/notmycat with no warning (no prior ones either), no mod comment, no reason and now the mod team won’t reply. I’ve made several posts there before with no issue. I checked time and time again and I don’t see any rule I broke.
This is the second time I’m banned from a cat sub with no proper explanation. It’s so annoying!!!
So, I got banned from there was an attempt for not immediately wishing death on all Israeli people. I know the whole topic is... Really fucking bad, like extremely bad. But come on, let's at least try and act like people and not accept every single claim without proof, we're all better than that. The mods didn't like that.
I didn't even say anything in support of the Israel government! I just said "maybe let's not treat them all like monsters"
I was informed my account was frozen because they noticed suspicious activity and I needed to change my password.
It was in the email and inbox. I changed the password but the account is still off. I can look at things but if someone tries to message me they are told it’s banned. I never got a banned message. It’s possible it just never got turned back on but I can’t find anyone to ask what happened
Check out r/BannedFromReddit, home of things pertaining to reddit bans.
Edit: I actually just started a thread over there to discuss and brainstorm what fair bans should look like and be warranted by. See some of you there!
This is the only messages I could find between us. Pretty sure was banned like 7 years ago, I can’t even find the message or email bc my reddit account is so old. I pissed off awkard the turtle and was banned in like 10 subs they moderated but this one won’t say why I was banned, but banned me bc they told me why.
Side effects include being told you did something wrong and being educated on the rules. Do not exceed 8 visits a day and if you are experiencing headaches after 24 hours consult your physician.
Noticed while browsing this subreddit that I was banned from commenting when I don’t remember ever getting banned. I’ve commented maybe a handful of times on posts so I was surprised and just want to know why.
I'm a literal pest control technician. I think I know more than a moderator. It did not take any effort to find out scientific evidence about peppermint and cinnamon deterring spiders! Would have took him like 5 seconds! Is helping someone in the post complaining about Brown recluse spiders. I had to offer lethal and non-lethal means of taking care of them
I don’t even know why it got recommended to me bc I’m anti-gen ai
I saw this post and wanted to ask how this was bad parenting, it’s literally just informing her child
Someone replied to me and jumped to the conclusion that the mom completely banned her kid from using ai, so I replied and said that that wasn’t true
I wasn’t even showing hate to ai, all I did was ask a simple question and I got banned
As a bit of background, I am a child support professional, I post frequently in r/childsupport to give people advice but I usually always tell people they need to talk to their local support agency and/or an attorney first and foremost before sharing what I personally know
I came across a thread that was crossposted into r/childsupport from r/legaladvice and made the mistake of commenting in the r/legaladvice thread...as you can see, it didn't go well. Was I in the wrong here? Or am I right that they really just immediately banned me for interrupting their self-righteous judgment of the guy I was replying to?
