Few more details regarding Dalian shipyard and dock, I missied

Sorry, I had missed few details about dalian port and hadn't described that mysterious ship properly.

Image 1&2 : There is a comparison on the basis of shadow of mysterious ship and a type 054 frigate in front of it in almost same orientation. While the source quoted by one of our community members shows that this have ordinary hull, hence a similar design like Visby class, canon like zumwalt with bigger size.

https://www.twz.com/sea/chinas-mysterious-stealthy-warship-has-headed-out-to-sea

Thanks Muted_Stranger_1 for the source.

I acknowledge that mysterious assets are often protected but a surface ship has to come to water at some point of time for testing atleast and could be easily spotted due to size.

Image 3 : Three submarine have been spotted in the same dock area. Seeing the shear size of PLA Assets presence, if seams that this is likely a naval dockyard.

Image 4 : Presence of large no. of PLA navy ship and absence of civilian ship or boat front the area and most importantly submarine presence makes me conclude that the facility the image 4 i.e. in isolation from the Dalian city by the forest surrounding it is a naval facility housing PLA navy troops, commanders and sail men.

Thanks for updating me!

Searched all three 'MOTHERS OF PLA NAVY'. Found a scaled down ship of similar design like USS Zumwalt at Dalian. Map is likely of early 2025.

Mothers of PLA Navy

By the mother, I mean the major shipyard that produce frontline warship of PLA. Specifically this shipyard whose built ship are threat to us. These ship are Type 055 cruiser, Type 052 series destroyer, Type 054 frigate, Fujian, Type 075 and 076 amphibious assualt ship.

So there are three mother's of PLA navy,

  1. Dalian Shipyard : This shipyard builds frontline warship of PLA navy such as type 055 cruiser, type 052D destroyer, type 054 frigate.
  2. Changxing Island : This shipyard has array of construction facilities owned by Jiangnan shipyard, Hudong Zuhonghua shipyard. Both respectively manufactured Fujian carrier, Type 076 amphibious assualt ship (larger than vikrant). It also manufacture Type 055 cruiser
  3. Bohai Shipyard : This shipyard is the sole shipyard as far known to have capacity to build nuke submarine and conventional submarine.

Time of Image

These images are of of likely early 2025. Two reason for the date is,

  • Fujian can be seen with aircraft on it at jiangnan shipyard. It's trials began post may 2024.
  • Type 076 is visibly launched and outer fitting was completed. It has begun trials in November 2025.

Suspicious findings

  1. There is a ship in first image that has design similar to USS Zumwalt but it's lenght is barely 100m. It has a canon similar to Zumwalt too that maintains its stealth. It's super structure don't match any declared existing chinese ship and has lot more common like zumwalt i.e. a uniform structure with a radar only at top. The only difference here is that the zumwalt deploy VLS at its edge but this deploy at centre like common ship. Another similar ship is under construction visible in the image of same size and shape. Second image is of Type 055 at dalian for comparison with this unknown ship.

List of Units docked

Identification is based on size and superstructure shape. Ship that are armed but less than 100m are identified as Type056 corvette, ship of 500ft are identified as type 055, ship of size more than 100m but less than 500ft are identified on the basis of super structure curvature into type 052D.

  1. Type 055 cruiser : 4
  2. Type 052D destroyer : 2
  3. Unknown ship : 1
  4. Type 056A corvette : 1
  5. Sovermeny class destroyer : 4
  6. Landing craft utility : 2
  7. Hospital ship : 1
  8. Under-construction Type055 : 1
  9. Under-construction Unknown ship : 1

Conclusion

  1. The shipyard has the capacity to manufacture, Type055, Type 052D. Only 5 assembly dry docks are visible in military section (1 and third image) while there is a possibility of another 2 in commercial section as they are concealed by sheds but have rails upto water (not visible in last image but just above the commercial shipyard visible here).
  2. The shipyard also carries out majority of repair and refit works of PLA navy, about 5 dry docks (4th image) are there dedicated for the purpose.
  3. There are 16 Type 055 ship of which 4 are under-construction yet we see 4 docked here and another 3 are at jiangnan. While there are more than 30 type 052 series ship but only two docked here and none at jiagnan. This can be concluded that PLA navy is seeing type 055 as an independent offensive asset rather than combining them in frontline or carrier battle group. There can be two doctrine.
  4. There is high probability in scene of conflict that PLA Navy would send type 055 with carrier battle group since their free sitting in peace time reflects intent to us them for high value engagement. Previously, it was thought that massive no of Type 052 series would be the front line combatant.
  5. There can be another meaning also of sitting type 055. PLA can be seeing them as 'Arsenal ship' i.e. they are meant to stay back and just fire missile salvi upon detection by frontline ship.
  6. PLA navy have kept old soviet crap just as reserve or patrol as they aren't using them. All sovermeny are stacked together sitting at port.

Note: Next will be Bohai shipyard analysis.

Would like to know what can be further concluded, your ideas and suggestions.

Thanks!

Found a mysterious building in PLAAF base Lhasa. Explore PLAAF base Hotan, Shigatse, Ngari Khusan too. Likely spotted a bunch of AD, DEW and EW there.

I am searching PLAAF base near our border, mostly in Tibet, Xinjiang and Sichuan. My observations were :

  • Only three base close to us (Tibet) have Aircraft shelters. They are hardened or just shed is a question as their walls apparently is very thin compared to that at PAF airbase. These are Lhasa, Shigatse, Ngari Khusan.
  • Hotan airbase have large array of trucks with shadow of launch tubes projected outwards is visible. Many tubes are also visible. Likely they have heavy concentration of SAM as primary measure to protect their parked jets. An AWAC aircraft with two satellite dish (10m diameter) on truck, likely for EW are also there (marked as S1 and S2).
  • Hotan airbase also has trucks that shows similarity with LY1 Laser weapon, likely to aide EW in countering drones. CRAM marked trucks match LD 2000 CRAM. Trucks marked in pink match HQ 6. Australia air power reports that LD2000 and HQ 6 are often mixed to form a battery for CRAM and C-UAS.
  • Trucks marked in yellow at Hotan airbase have unknown appearance. Few trucks also match appearance of QW5 DEW system showed by china in its victory parade in 2026.
  • No other jets than 'Flanker' are visible. Likely they store their J20, J10 and J 35 in large hangers together so as to prevent reconnaissance by satelite. Meaning their elite aircraft are likely in hangar in bunch, unprotected (don't have passive protection of Hardened sbelters) except at Lhasa, Ngari Kushan, Shigatse.
  • There is heavy construction going on at many PLAAF based. In 2020, we had seen naked images of PLAAF jets and now we aren't seeing J20, J35 or CH4. Likely moved somewhere else or in major hangar.
  • Most mysterious building is at Lhasa. A building which has hardly 5m wide walls (marked in red box in first image). It's isn't a tunnel opening because shadow of left wall is visible.
  • Airport Chamdo and Nyingchi have visibly no aircraft. Likely commercial only. Most airport in china are dual use except one at high traffic area and base secret for military research.

Note : There are many other airstrip and air defence sites not covered in this post. Air defence sites are hard to determine as they look like random building. The AD units I marked are meant to be deployed in open as they are short range high volume countermeasures.

Please help to identify yellow trucks, mysterious building and point out other things that I have missed. Chinese have many more different toys compared to Pakis.

There can be 2 awacs in bholari hangar

Upon checking bholari air base hangar, I found its dimensions are 50×50 m approx that can hold two eeriye.

We had striked the hangar on 9-10 may when they were preparing for an assault against us. Airforce at that time attacked that hangar where eeriye were being prepared for an confrontation.

The high probability of holding 2 eeriye is that paf have only two (declared) based that hold eerieye. One is minhas whose diagnosis, I have done and another is bholari. So as to fit in the infra available, they could have hold two in this hangar.

While our airforce choose a modest count of one in hangar and other in air as we don't know that the second awac in hangar was in reparable condition or not.

There is still chance that 2 awacs are on an undiscloses location. likely at karachi as it have alot of large hangars.

Analysed PAF base Mushaf (Sargodha) and 'Kirana Store'. Likely spotted nuke storage and tunnels as well as an unreported radar by PAF.

The Paf base mushaf is pretty interesting as it is the largest base of paf and has 'top gun' academy of pak. Almost all top ranking officers, irrespective of their command can be found here.

Assets of base

The assets of the base are

  • 93 hardened aircraft shelter
  • 6 large hangars (one unmarked can be operations building)
  • 2 or 3 tunnel openings (each 10 m wide)
  • One radome of about 15 to 18 meter in diameter.
  • Air commander academy

Count of fighter jets

As per wikipedia source, is based handles

  • 3 squadron of f16 (1 is CCS)
  • 2 squadron of mirage IIIO ROSE I (1CCS squadron)
  • 1 squadron of EW i.e. only EW squadron of PAF
  • One CCS squadron of jf 17

If one count each squadron for 20 aircraft each except ccs -- standard formation of paf then they total account for 60 units atleast. Most importantly, all PAF ccs squadron(dedicated to training and strategy development) are here.

The airbase also hold helicopters as visible by a dedicated section of runway with helipad marks.

Size of EW aircraft

There are multiple hangar that are capable to hold large EW aircraft,

  • Hangar A : 50 × 50 m
  • Hangar B : 100 × 30 m approx
  • Hangar C: 60 × 20 m approx
  • Hangar D & E : 50 × 35 m approx

There are three hardened shelters also that are sufficiently large to store EW aircraft. These are hanger no 17, 75, 76 all in 4th image. These assets seam more than sufficient to store all 8 operational EW of PAF.

Considering operationality of base the hangar D and E are likely for heli and f16 as they are close to helipad but on wiki images, f 16 were there.

Ordinance storage

Hardened shelter no from 77 to 92 are almost double in size of regular hardened shelter and at good distance from the airstrip. These can be ordinance depot so as to prevent damage on other assets incase of being hit by enemy. There are transport vehicle depot (93 is also visible in the area).

Nuke Tunnels

Tunnel marked as T1 and T2 seams are of same width width as of tunnel opening at the top of Kirana store. It's useless to build an ordinance Base at top of steep hills when it comes to transport the ordinance but tunnels can do so. Kirana store is just 14-15 km from sargodha airbase.

The topography analysis have been done by Gemini (I am not good at geography), and it seams that the ground is prefect for tunnels + nuke storage.

Apparantly, PAF built storage in Kirana Hills and built tunnels to its based at sargodha, later opened the hills for public to neglect suspicion.

I am concluding it because after hitting kirana store a us aircraft B350 (aerial measurement system) was flying there.

Undeclared asset of PAF

There seams to be a radome that is not present in any publicly available list of paf radar at sargodha. It's visible in 9th pic, highlighted in blue at 'Air power excellence centre.' It can't be any auditorium because a it's too small for it and a similar structure of auditorium is also visible.

Scars visible

The runway pounded an year ago by IAF still have marks of repair in it.

Opinions are invited and please suggest if anything other can be concluded.

Thanks!

Suspicion about the PAF Base Minhas (Kamra)

I checked the most vital PAF Base Minhas (Kamra) as it hold squadron of J10CE and PAC Kamra aircraft rebuilt factory. What interesting is the base as per wikipedia sources hold a squadron of jf 17 block 3 with saab eeriyee awacs but the assets are much less as visible than they would be needed to hold the claimed no of aircrafts.

The base has the following assets that are visible via Google Earth:

  1. 34 Hardened aircraft shelter (one aircraft per shelter. we can conclude by size)
  2. 5 large hangers(similar one that was blown in bholari, marked as letters in the image)
  • One apparently for helicopter (marked as E)
  • One apparently for maintenance near PAC Kamra factory (marked as C).
  1. PAF base mushaf(sargodha) is another one that has 70+ hardened shelters and hold some as it is the closest to us with having large capacity.
  2. The largest industrial shed at PAC Kamra rebuild factory is of 150m long and about 50m wide while the another factory has the largest shed about 200m long and 100m wide. The maintenance hanger is a little more than 100m long and 50m wide.
  3. PAC brochure claims that jf 17 is 14.3m long, 9.44m wide, height 4.57m. Now PAF used to manufacture F7G chinese aircraft in rebuilt factory but now likely pac mushak and other crap are being produced there leaving that 200m long shedding(PAC aircraft manufacture factory) as the sole space for jf 17. Since pak produced 20-25 jf 17 annually, it seams that this factory has capacity to manufacture only one batch annually ( 10 × 2 assembly line) or we can say, the factory here are the only and sole factory for key component of aircraft, licensed only component (sensitive military components) and airframe. Note that many other can be manufactured by civilian manufacturers who they can be distributed throughout Pakistan but key component that are required state efforts would be here likely to cut transport cost, damage and risk of exposure to pak's enemies.
  4. Thus apparently only hangar A and B have the capacity to hold eeriye and as per wiki data on aircraft size, each could hold only one easily.

What's your opinion and what can be further conclusions.

Thanks!

World Bank Open Data

Here is the 'PPP coversion factor' data by world bank that shows a contrasting difference with respect to market ruppee-dollar exchange ratio. While ruppee have seen downslide but the factory remained constant. What could be the reason behind this? Is it help full for our economy, industries and trade?
