Keyholes, webs.. spiders?
Very likely to be nothing, but I found this interesting.
I’ve been playing through GTA IV recently, mainly just to prepare for GTA VI, but also keeping an eye out for anything I see that connects to themes of the mysteries we see in GTA V.
I went to the Internet cafe, hopped on a computer, and was immediately reminded of so many conversations I’ve seen in regard to key/ keyholes, webs, etc.
Something strikes me about the internet icon in GTA IV. They refer to it as the ‘WEB’ which is very common terminology, but they could’ve just as easily labeled it as ‘INTERNET’ or ‘BROWSER’. The icon is a globe with a keyhole right in the center.
I also found the color palette strikingly similar to the GTA V spider/ keyhole tattoo, which also features a web.
Could there be more subliminal messages hidden in the GTA V/ GTA IV ‘internet’ that we have overlooked? The search engine in both games is called EYEfind after all.
While I’m sure every page of the in game internet has been datamined into oblivion by now, it could be worth a look.
Kifflom! Feel free to pick this apart.
Thoughts on Kortz Heist Painting
A lot of people in the community are discussing the painting below, and I wanted to share my thoughts and findings as of yet ~
Things I've seen others mention:
- The coins stack up to match the city skyline from the baseball diamond at B.J. Smith's Recreational Center and Park - Which features a baseball 'diamond' and other various interesting things such as breakable wires on some light poles.
- The poker chip appears to depict an eye, within the shape of an ear - More audio cues like the peyote easter egg?
- 4 Alien like figures - 3 of them have eyes, one does not. More on this below.
- Imagery of a mountain below the diamond, appearing on the white openings of the puzzle - Possibly? Could be a reflection of the diamond itself. More on this below.
My Take:
For starters, I think the baseball diamond theory is solid. There could definitely be something going on with those breakable lamp post wires, given how they just disappear when hit / shot / struck. This screams easter egg to me. A lot of other elements in the game similar to these just shoot sparks out upon impact, and do not follow the same behavior of fully disappearing. They also respawn on fairly short range - easy to make many attempts at 'something' here. Allegedly there is also a Dog that spawns here, follows a path, that no one has been able to decipher as of yet, however I have not seen this dog in my recent testing. While this is a diamond, there is another nearby...
The Diamond:
Above we see another diamond on the map. It's obvious in shape, there is no second guessing that this resembles a diamond. It's right across the street from Franklin's aunts house (Franklins 1st Safehouse). Within this diamond, is the Children of the Mountain building (church?), located on the rightmost corner. Circles back to that imagery of a mountain featured on the painting as well. Important to note that the skyline of LS also lines up with the painting's coins from this area. Also, at the bottom of the diamond is an apartment complex named 'The Tahitian' which sticks out simply because of the events of RDR2. While I found this interesting, I recognize that that could simply be a coincidence, just felt like pointing it out.
This being said, the eye / ear poker chip is located directly on top of the COTM building. This makes me wonder if there is more to that organization that we've initially credited it. It's easy to go through all of the epsilon missions with Michael, and then think you'll be getting the same out of COTM with Franklin, and immediately resent the fact you just spent all that money for a t-shirt and never think about it again.
The 3 / 6 Die:
Something stuck out to me about the red die pictured in the painting. They're incorrect. 'Proper' dice follow a specific pattern that allows for all opposite sides to add up to 7. While the die on the left with a 3 on top could be a legitimate one, it appears that the opposite side would be a 6 as shown in the right die. This would add up to 9. (Nine is God?) Anyway - here's proof of what real die in this orientation would show:

Action Items:
I think this painting could allude to one of two things. Go to these areas (the diamond I showed, or the baseball diamond) between the hours of 3-6am, and look with your EARS for some sort of audio cue, and go from there.
This could also refer to - unfortunately - Packie McReary. This is a weak one, but hear me out. A bit further to the right of the diamond, across the street from the COTM building, is where we meet Packie in a random encounter. He and a partner are robbing the pharmacy, but they need a ride. You can pick them up, lose the cops, and then use Packie in your heists (heist / mask icon featured in painting). Looking with your EARS allows you to pick up on this encounter as it appears on your minimap as well. This also explains the 4 figures featured in the painting - 3 have eyes (Michael, Franklin, Trevor are playable) and 1 does not (Packie is not playable).
Interested to know your thoughts on all of this. PLEASE prove me wrong about Packie.. I want it to be something more!
Kifflom Brother-Brothers! Maybe we can solve something one day!
GTA 6 Cal Hampton on Prop43 Website
Okay- long shot here. Hardly even really mystery related but certainly found it interesting. Was just scrolling through some websites in GTA V story mode when I get to the second landing page of Proposition 43. (www.proposition43.org/page2). First photo looks a little familiar…
Looks exactly like Cal Hampton who we’ve seen briefly in some of the teaser media for GTA VI. Anyone recognize any other characters from this webpage? Interesting because it seems Cal could end up being a stoner/ conspiracist kind of character in VI, for example in one promo screenshot he’s seen wearing a Hawaiian shirt with aliens hidden in the print.
I found it interesting, maybe some of you will too.
The Egg in Grapeseed
Hi all,
I recently flipped through the majority of what I could find from ‘DrunkDev’. This left me really wondering about Grapeseed of all places. It is mentioned several times in DrunkDev’s ramblings, stating to look for an egg, be very literal and LOOK with your EYES. While I think the mound in the cow field could very well be the ‘egg’ of Grapeseed, I also found something interesting.
See the attached photos
1: literal eggs on the front of a barn in Grapeseed.
2: full photo of the building. As I walk up to take a closer look at the eggs, I hear something. Intermittent electrical zaps were immediately noticeable. The sound is very out of place out there. The top left shows the (A/C?) unit that produces the sound. Every few seconds, -zap-, sometimes 2, sometimes 3. I couldn’t find a discernible rhythm or pattern to them, but feel free to take a look for yourselves, your ears might hear something I didn’t!
3: Closer look at the unit, managed to get a screenshot just as the effect was happening. A blue electrical arch, some orange sparks.
Wasn’t able to find anything mentioning this in the past, curious if anyone has more insight to what this could be.
Thanks for reading. Kifflom!
Closer Look at Kortz Center (Colors) - Connection to DDM
Given the presence of a literal maze at the Kortz Center, I decided to take a closer look at the area to see what I could find. A lot of the findings are based on colors, so keep that in mind as you read.
For starters: The Kortz Center is based off of the Getty Center located in Los Angeles. My investigation took place on PS5 enhanced edition, using director mode, in a sub-100% save file.
Upon entering the Kortz Center you are greeted with a massive sculpture / fountain, mainly colored red.
Red Sculpture, visual similarity to the Maze Bank sculpture
Moving forward, you find the entrance with usable doors, and a nearby sign color coding different exhibits/ buildings throughout the center.
Yellow, Green, Blue, Red, Grey
The exhibits are as follows:
Yellow - Qing Dynasty Love - "Wu Sangui Kangxi Emporer of the Qing Dynasty"
Green - Russian Literature - "Relative to the political changes in Europe"
Blue - Pharaoh's Riches - "A journey through the Egyptian dynasties"
Red - Liberty City Tales - "The cultural changes in Liberty City gangs 1970-present."
Forgot to take a photo of the banners, but found it interesting that the Pharaoh's Riches exhibit displays an Egyptian eye symbol.
Moving on, entering through the Low Rotunda doors pictured above, you are greeted with a grouping of 5 vending machines, distinctly following the same colors as the exhibits / buildings.
Red, Green, Grey, Blue, Yellow
While this could very likely be nothing at all, I found it worth noting that I saw a repeat of the same colors so soon in this investigation. This was, admittedly, a starting point nonetheless.
But stick with me - I know you're thinking "So what, you saw colors on a massive, detailed, realistic map", but this next sight is what really stuck with me. Walking further into the Kortz Center at night visualizes a variety of display lights
First off, there are two notable egg-like sculptures lit Green, and I know many would scream ALIENS at this kind of symbolism, I am following the Doomsday mural signage and interpreting it as an 'egg of life' or rebirth, representing the Green portion of the mural, the peyote easteregg. Also notable, this post from 13 years ago: KORTZ Something to take a gander at
With the Doomsday Mural in mind, I walked, following the purple lights which lead directly to the Maze.
Very strong connection to the doomsday mural in my opinion.
Next, I walked along the blue path, which in my theory would have some sort of connection to Epsilon. Following directly to the end of the blue lights, leads to a staircase. Roughly at the top of this staircase you can find the doors that are interactive, but not enterable, showing only a small room / void behind them. This has been brushed off in the past given it is a door that agents will spawn behind and rush the player in the mission "The Wrap Up" - still interesting.
Openable doors, second floor of the bell building.
Following the blue lights to the end, and continuing walking to the edge of the Kortz area allows the player to look over West LS, notably leaving Del Perro Pier & the LS Airport visible.
Tracing the lights backwards, towards the entrance, leaves the player standing next to an interesting sculpture, which I noticed that around 1:30PM / 13:30 casts a shadow that unmistakably forms a lightning bolt
Seen from the second floor of the Bell Building @ 13:30
Finally, following the yellow lights, the player is lead to the western lookout of the Kortz Center. Standing by the lit poles allows for a perfect centering of Eclipse Towers between the walls of the walkway. I found another old reddit post highlighting a connection of the main Kortz Center Sculpture and the In-Game Eclipse weather conditions here: Kortz Center Aligns With Eclipse
Bad lighting, but that is the Eclipse Towers.
An alternative take, squaring up with the walkway and looking directly outwards from the end of the yellow lights, frames the Galileo Observatory perfectly.
Once again apologies for poor lighting, this session was done at midnight in-game.
A few more quick notable finds:
Orange (Yellow) Wavelength-like structures on Kortz Dr leading up to the Kortz Building:
Wavelength symbolism also featured on Doomsday Murals (Yellow)
The Arcadia Building in Pillbox Hill uses the same 4 colors on banners flying around the building:
I'm sure these colors can be found in several places, but figured I would include this one.
All in all, this was a really long-winded way for me to tell everyone I found nothing. BUT - Some of the colors / symbolism certainly seems to line up with known 'hints' and 'pushes' we have received from devs i.e. the Doomsday murals.
Interested to see what the community has to say about all this, I definitely had fun searching for whatever my Jesus Toast glasses could find.
Thanks for reading! Kifflom.
Modding / Retexture certain assets for visibility?
I am fairly familiar with the Chiliad mystery and have been playing GTA V since the PS3 - This being said, I'll be the first to admit I'm no expert in certain regards. Has there ever been any drive to create mods / retextures in order to assist in the hunt? Specifically, I could see this being helpful in finding any spiderwebs beyond the known 2 spawning near Chiliad. If we were able to make the assets (to my knowledge, powerlines) a brighter, more visible texture they would be much easier to find during the late spawn times.
A caveat I'm unsure of is whether modding of any kind disables / defuncts any of the 'mystery' functions. If anyone is more knowledgeable in this aspect I'd love to know more.
Thanks & Kifflom
