AOS still possible for applicants who benefit the US (as per USCIS)

USCIS’s Zach Kahler just came out with a new statement re: AOS memo that clarifies:

“"After years of ignoring the intent of Congress in the adjustment of status application, USCIS is merely restating and reasserting that intent. While we work to operationalize this, people who present applications that provide an economic benefit or otherwise are in the national interest will likely be able to continue on their current path while others may be asked to apply abroad depending on individualized circumstances."

I feel this one can be argued for EB1/EB2 NIW cases, especially founders and entrepreneurs or those whose jobs can be argued are a benefit to the US’s economy and development, which is already the majority of EB1/2 cases.

Do approved O1s increase chance of EB1 approval at all?

I’m the founder of a company. We represent talent (actors, musicians etc) and have petitioned O1Bs for them, third O1B got approved last week without RFE.

I myself am on my second O1A at the moment. I believe I claimed 6 criteria but no idea what they accepted since it was approved without RFE. Applying for EB1 soon.

I am aware having an O1 visa does not guarantee EB1 approval by any means, but I’m just wondering if it increases the chances / helps at all that USCIS is familiar with me & my company and the criteria is the same (minus the FMD), or do they fully disregard the O1s?

What Is A Reasonable Quote? (Post)

I’m entering post for a 10min narrative short film and getting quotes all over the place. I understand rates vary on experience, availability etc but I’d appreciate some realistic ballparks because I want to compensate people fairly but also not get ripped off.

I especially want to work with folks who have already done similar stuff. Of course someone who’s just getting started will not charge the same as someone who consistently does Sundance films, but I am happy to accommodate the higher rate to get the more experienced team as long as I’m being quoted fairly.

For example, I’d been trying to find an editor at $2k and quickly understood I was way under budget for the type of editor I was looking to hire. I upped my budget to $4k and have since had many director friends tell me that’s too much, so I feel lost.

What are some fair ballpark rates I can negotiate for the below roles:

- Editor (no vfx, must be LA based)
- Colorist
- Sound Designer
- Sound Mixer
- Composer
