What age were you no longer called “Buddy” by an older male.
I’m 22, soon to be 23 this August and I’m still being called “buddy” by older males. Sure, I work in retail and it’s just a word pulled out of thin air by convenience, but when it comes down to it, I find it’s a certain type of male who uses the term more than others.
Being called “buddy” didn’t bother me until I hit my 20’s. Now it makes me feel less of a man. To me, it’s the equivalence of being called “good boy” which never sat well with me either as a kid. Anyways, my question is when should I expect to stop being called “buddy”? Is it when I lose the baby face? Is it when I hit a certain age threshold and the gods have spoken? What’s your experience and does the word “buddy” matter to you?
