Dangerous music levels in some parts of the gym
Edit: I’m getting a lot of down votes. Can someone explain why this isn’t a valid complaint?

I guess this is a frustrated rant more than anything.
I just cut my workout short because I couldn’t tolerate the volume of the music at a GoodLife. I regret staying as long as I did because I’m at home now and my ears are still ringing.
I walked into the gym through the general area, and everything was fine, but as I opened the doors to the women’s area the music got noticeably louder. As I walked further down the hall closer to the speakers it was like walking into a concert. I tried working out, but even at max volume I couldn’t hear my music over the gym speakers. I googled a decibel detector and it was registering an average in the 90s/100s and peaking at almost 120.
I went to ask a staff member to lower the volume but he only turned it down to the point that it was still averaging in the 80s and peaking in the low 100s. I tried to workout again but was still uncomfortable and gave up pretty quickly.
In contrast when I checked the general area it was at a much more comfortable volume mostly in the 60s and peaking in the 70s.
I‘ve been going to this location for years and this has been a problem before but only rarely.
How does it happen that certain parts of the gym can be at literally twice the volume of others? It was like pulling teeth when I tried to get the staff member to turn the speakers down to the same level as the rest of the gym, was it really an unreasonable request?

Editing to add that this happened at 3am and I was the only person in the women’s area so there was no one else to complain that they wanted it this loud.
i wouldn’t have complained about it being just a little louder than normal but 120 db is literally the level of sound directly in front of concert speakers and is loud enough that hearing damage can happen instantly
