Cat won’t stop scratching her ears until they bleed
Hi, my cat is an 8yr old spayed Ragdoll and she has been having a lot of issues with her ears lately. She is exclusively indoor, so i think its highly unlikely she picked up some bug outside.
She recently went to the vet for blood in her urine/straining to pee and they found a bunch of bladder stones, plus a couple kidney stones in the process of forming. She has been put on a prescription diet and i have noticed her itching her ears until they bleed not long after she started. I have tried cutting her nails but it still keeps getting worse.
The wounds mostly look like small, scabby bumps on the backs of her ears and redness around the insides. On her left ear, she has scratched a whole flap of skin off her head near the inside of the ear.
She was previously itching her eyes too (~2 weeks ago), to the point where one got an infection from a small scratch. I almost took her to the vet but it healed on its own.
Please keep in mind that i am not financially stable enough to take her to the vet unless its an absolute must. I feel a lot of shame about it.
