The guy I’m F28 seeing M29 is a very busy touring musician- is this manageable?
I’m dating a touring musician who is away a lot. It’s early, about a month in, and I’ve only seen him three times. I won’t be able to see him for another 3 weeks though we talk on the phone somewhat regularly. It’s just breaking my heart because I’ve liked him a lot in the time I’ve spent with him. He is mature, ambitious, gentle, cute, and very similar to me. And he’s genuinely interested in me. But I’m feeling bad about it. A little ignored, a little lonely.
We had a conversation about his schedule, where he told me his lifestyle is intense. He also said he needs to work less and say no to more jobs. He said we should talk more on the phone. It made me feel better, but only for a little while.
Am I expecting too much this early on? Would you be able to get used to your partner being away 50-70% of the time? Because everything else is lining up but this.
