I’ve had a “dry spot” on the back of my scalp since I was about 15 ( I will be 20 on the 18th) it never bothered me until I noticed it started to get flakey. I oiled it with tea tree oil not knowing what it was. Finally in 2024 it was noticeably flaking and became raised above my skin. Finally a dermatologist diagnosed me with psoriasis this past week.

I’ve tried nizoral shampoo from Walgreens, ketoconazole shampoo and tropical oil doctor prescribed, glycolic acid, special shampoo but all I’ve noticed is it just helps the flaking not the actual raised red patch under the flakeyness.

My question is what other products or treatments has anyone tried to help subside the redness. My boyfriend believes it could also be something in my diet. I’m honestly just looking for suggestions. Knowing where to start is scary I just want help understanding what can cause a flare up, what will help, etc.
