Hi everyone, I don't usually post much but thought I'd give it a shot as I'm genuinely puzzled about what's going on.
I’ve been dealing with daytime sleepiness for months now. I wake up feeling 'just ok' and sleepiness builds during the day until I can barely function. I usually get enough sleep time overall, around 7.5 hours on average, not much caffeine, no real anxiety, sleep and wake at consistent times and good sleep hygiene.
Usually if I sleep long enough I'm buzzing, but since this started something is eating into my energy even if I sleep 9 hours.
I did an in-lab sleep study. Showed no apnea, 0 AHI/RDI/RERAs, oxygen fine.
It did show some sleep fragmentation. 31.8/hr total arousals / hour.
There were also limb movements: 8.3/hr.
My sleep doctor want me to first address the limb movement problem, which I'm totally open to, but I'm not sure it explains the whole story as spontaneous arousals were much higher at 27.7/hr.
Wondering if anyone had any similar experiences?
tl;dr: If someone has daytime sleepiness, no OSA/RERAs, normal oxygen, but high spontaneous arousals and some limb movements, what would you look into next?
Just for context: the sleep-study night was unusually bad for me where I kept waking up. This isn't typical at all so I’m trying not to over-interpret that part and looking more at the solid sleep blocks instead.
