Potty Training Regression - age 4

My son potty trained early (before 2) and night trained around 3, with occasional overnight accidents until later in age 3. For the last maybe 4-6 months, he’s been accident free. Bladder of steel. Potty independent at last!

Until about a week ago when he started having almost nightly bed wetting. We first went back to taking him for a late night pee before we went to bed. We adjusted water intake (more during day, less at night). He doesn’t have any discomfort urinating.

He’s an only child, so no new baby in the house. We haven’t moved house. No death in the family or other stressful incident we could point to. I’m feeling a bit stumped.

The only possible culprits I can think of:
-he’s been starting to get a little more emotional—not in a tantrum sense, which he’s always had, but more in a tender sense. He voluntarily told me he loved me for the first time a couple weeks ago, and has started to express missing me or me husband sometimes. So maybe it’s just a developmental thing and his brain is growing?
-he’s going to an outdoor camp 5 days a week. He’s been before, but never for two consecutive weeks. Perhaps the exhaustion is catching up with him and he’s sleeping more deeply?

My next steps are to reach out to the pediatrician, and to monitor his poops more closely to rule out constipation. In the meantime, if anyone has advice or similar experience, I welcome it!
