[Hair Removal] Topical anti-androgens to inhibit male facial hair?
I am an early 30s male interested in the stopping or reducing of facial hair growth for anti-aging reasons. I'm already on retinoid + SPF - however, facial hair is a major impediment . As the beard grows, especially for coarse or afro-haired guys, it blocks optimal absorption of product into the skin. However, when you shave, you deal with bumps from ingrown hairs, general irritation and damage, and a beard shadow which starts growing in a matter of hours - all of which both contribute to an aged appearance and prevent the skin-care from being absorbed optimally so it's a really vicious cycle.
TL;DR Anyway, I figure theoretically, topical anti-androgens should inhibit facial hair growth by the same mechanism by which they fight hair loss for which they're usually used for over at r/tressless/. So why not try applying to the face? Any major risk of systemic / side effects, especially permanent ? (at least any more-so than scalp application?)
I'm looking at things like RU58841, KX826, CB0301, Fluridil, Ketokonosole shampoo, Alfatradiol, Topical Spironolactone most of which seem to be anti-androgens. I'm especially interested in GT20029 but that doesn't seem to be available yet as far as I can tell. I'm also looking at Eflornithine. I also just learned of topical estrogens like estriol.
Side notes:
Yes, I'm using electric now, Phillips One Blade which has been a major improvement but it's still not perfect. I know all the usual shave advice and techniques. I want a consistent, daily BBS, clean shaven look without even stubble but this seems to be very difficult if not impossible for guys past a certain age, especially with this hair type. Even with super optimal skill and technique, it doesn't seem possible, at least not anything close to daily. Barbers can't even get it right - almost every barber who's shaved my face has torn my face all the way up.
Laser and electrolysis are options but are both expensive and time-consuming - not to mention a bit too permanent. I'd perhaps like the option to grow a beard should I want to, probably when I'm older.
