Rabies Vaccine Series Update
I know there are a couple old posts about getting the rabies vaccines in the Boston area, but some of them are out of date now.
The urgent care that used to be at 9 Hope Avenue closed in 2024 so obviously no longer gives them.
I called a few MGH Urgent Cares (apparently rebranding to Express Care?), and none of them have it or will do it.
If your insurance doesn't need a referral (or you can get one at the ER when you get your immunoglobulin treatment and first dose), the infectious disease department at MGH can do rabies vaccines for the follow-ups (day 3, 7, and 14).
ER can be cost-prohibitive and can take hours, and a specialist copay can be a little easier to deal with.
Please feel free to drop other successful vaccination locations in the comments if you've had it done anywhere else! My PCP wouldn't get it in for me, but ymmv with your own pcp.
